Around a month ago I posted a question on a different site (GameFaqs). Since then the question has gone unanswered. Would it be acceptable for me to re-ask the question on Arqade?
what genshin combact could be if the idiot min-max gang didn't exist.
Would really prefer trying to do things like the first video instead of trash like "NA-NA-BURST-Switch-NA-SKILL-Switch...careful, you will lose 10k dmg if you miss one frame in the rotation"
I overly prefer REACTIVE gameplay based on what the foe does compared to "you have to follow this rotation in this order". That kind of gameplay isn't fun... it is like playing pacman by memorizing the optimal level solution path
(if you didn't know, the ghost in the first version have deterministic behavior, so if you follow a specific route they will always react in the same way)
@SaintWacko not random. But having to choose what to do when based on what the opponent does.
"High difficulty" combat in genshin (luckly mostly related to a monthly gauntlet event that just gives out some free premium currency) is basically building a team and perform a specific optimal sequence of attacks as fast as you can.
TRASH.
Ideally.... you would have to: a) build a team base on what you are facing (there are some minor cases when you have to but not very often). b) survive enemy attacks and react to them when the foe shows an opening.
core issue is that Genshin combat is heavily based on shields - some skills give you a "shield" that last x seconds and can take y damage before breaking.
Since some shields are VERY good, you basically get in a situation that allows you to just attack as fast as you can.
@SPArcheon Thats basically how I do play; rotate through characters to do the special or ult if available. Basically triggering elemental bursts all the time
