Today I hit someone with "i am very pro much", thinking it was a meme, but it took me forever to remember it was from an election here and only a handful of people have any idea what it references. I'm old

03:18
@Sterno That wasn't very pro much of you
Also RIP Ronnie. Forever in our hearts.
and also I think everyone is older than you were when we started calling you old
@Wipqozn @Sternold was born old

Hi all, just noticed the screenshot of the week for this week. I can't seem to find the entry in the Hall of Fame. Am I looking in the wrong place or is the Hall of Fame out of date?
I'm wondering which game it is.
Reverse image search gives me anything from Just Cause to Pantropy, I'm fairly sure it's neither.
I don't know of any games that feature castles, nuclear bombs and resulting tsunamis.
08:42
@Mast if you go to Submit a Photo it'll take you to this weeks and it's listed in the Question with a link back to the corresponding answer
> To start with, congratulations to the winner of the previous contest!
Batophobia's picture from [tag:wonderlands] won with 13 upvotes (and Batophobia is now on a 3 post winning streak)!
.......dam you parsing
the name's cut down but it's Tiny Tina's Wonderlands
someone should fix up the tag wiki just to point that out since it's not exactly obvious
@Mast it was the art style that made be think of Borderlands at first
with Tiny Tina's Wonderlands being a spin off of the series featuring one of our favorite cute psychopaths
@Memor-X Ah, considering I had no intention of uploading my own photo, that's one of the places I didn't look :-)
Thanks.
Looking at the trailer, I never would've guessed it being the same game. Trailer looks much more cartoony.

@SPArcheon Rebranded bottles of wine are pretty usual, but I would love one if its not too fucking expensive
@Fredy31 Probably some self made thing.
yeah its probably basic AF wine if its a rebrand
because you can do such things, I don't know the process, but you can get some vinyards to package their bottles of a batch with another sticker
Like in conventions you can have 'Ubisoft wine' or something
But ubisoft does not have a wineyard just for that, they just rebrand bottles
Yeah update to where I'm at, finished the chasm, and just walked in sumeru this morning
even if I already went to the main town for a quest with Lisa
Kinda funny you walk in they are all like OOO MYSTERIOUS SHIT
and I just already went through the territory
Like the first quest I did this morning is clean the statue of the 7... guess to guide you to go get it.

Already had it
@Fredy31 yeah... You DIDN'T watch anything online about the Sumeru Archeon quest, right?
i know small details, but no spoilers except who is the chapter final boss
because there was a lot of buzz about the boss theme
@Fredy31 oh, well that you would know anyway from their trailers.
Megazord Scara
14:49
Like except the boss I think the only thing I know is that you meet the archon pretty early, but its not kept a secret
@Fredy31 you.. didn't play the Archipelago thing last summer?
nah
last time i played was february last year lol
Because actually you talk to BEST ARCHEON during that event.
I didnt keep the grind day to day
so, technically, you meet Nahida even before Sumeru
14:53
doesnt ring a bell
The only archon that seems genuine friendly without any trace of "yep, I know a lot but I won't tell you because reason"
@Fredy31 anyway, please take a screenshot of your face when you get to THAT part of the quest.
i dont usually film myself playing video games alone
you will immediately realize what I am talking about when you get there :P
What do you think I am? A Twitch streamer?
@Fredy31 oh, that was a joke obviously, but I do want to know how confused you got.
BTW, if you plan to resume playing, be careful with the next banner. Apparently Dehya is going to steal the Qiqi memetic role as worse character.
unless after the launch someone notices something the leakers missed the character seems to have no reason to exist so far.
15:44
@Fredy31 BTW, every region has a gnosis, with the fatui constantly trying to steal them. But also every nation ends up with a 5* memento.
Want to bet? Final chapter of the game they will all merge to become the Traveler / Paimon Gnosis (probably Omni, since the element exist in the card game and is suspiciously gold)
Travelert becomes the first 6* character, gets a big upgrade in stat that makes in actually good...
looking forward to seeing that in about 5 years
but next patch brings the "After the main story new plot" and everyone starts to get the "6* Limit break" and Traveler becomes useless again.
because we can assume the fatui region is the last region
@Fredy31 probably not if the original titles are still a thing.
It may be Celestia.
So we have what, a hydro, a pyro region, and then that
yeah that might be it
hydro, pyro, cryo, and then SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER celestia
and/or the abyss as a region instead of just being 'something'
15:52
> Masquerade of the Guilty must be Fontaine
> Incandescent Ode of Resurrection is Natlan / Pyro
> Everwinter Without Mercy is Fatui...
but last chapter was titled
> The Dream Yet to be Dreamed
so, my bet is Traverse Town... :P
jokes aside...
this was the original presentation.
And that is why I am strongly thinking that Dain is the one in the battle pass video, not you.
@SPArcheon That would be one hell of a twist. You are in the final fight and WHOS THAT? IS THAT MICKEY MOUSE WITH A STEEL CHAIR? IT WAS KINGDOM HEARTS ALL ALONG MOTHERFUCKER
@Fredy31 The real twist will be when they claim that Aerith is alive and well in KH because ... she lives in FF7 Remake
God knows Genshin Impact will have the time to finish their story before FF7 Remake gets to that
because IMHO FF7 Remake is the last puzzle piece in the Chrono/FF feud
Really there would be celebrations in the streets if ChronoTrigger got a full on current-gen remake
16:10
@Fredy31 to be fair, I would be celebrating if they gave Chrono Cross the DB GT treatment.
"OK, guy, forget all we said, that isn't canon anymore, we are making Chrono Trigger Super"
Really, the whole thing almost seems a feud between Masato Kato and rest of the team first, Tetsuya Nomura afterward.
You have two similar games worked on at the same time, both about "giant space flea destroy world" and random group of people fighting against the odd.
FF7 and Chrono Trigger
FF7 has Aerith die and stay dead, they save nothing (see epilogue, humanity is still going to die off, planet is still very bad) .
Chrono has happy ending and Crono is saved too.
Wonder what? Kato wanted Crono to stay dead. As soon as he took control in Cross you got a sequel that is basically another game, with every main character in the first game killed or implied to be killed off camera.
Seems almost Aerith was meant as a middle finger to Chrono AND the players (they claimed that they wanted them to fell loss and pain after all)
Now, years after you get a remake of FF 7 that so far seems to point to Aerith living thru the whole game? A tad odd, I may say...
I guess we will never know, but from the outside it seems a feud indeed "You ruin Chrono happy end, I remake FF7 bad end into happy"

Q: Are questions confirming 100% completion possibility on topic?

gabbo1092Before sinking the time into properly developing such a question, I wanted to confirm if questions asking about the possibility of 100% completing a game is on-topic for this site. With complex games with branching pathways it can be hard to find out: When it is possible to complete everything i...

@SPArcheon it doesn't help that FF7 remake apparently has a bunch of weird meta-textual things going and so that could literally be the plot of the remake series
It feels like it's going to end up like the NGE Rebuild series where the message of the story kinda became "go touch grass, you nerds"
18:32
@Yuuki ? What "meta-textual" things you are talking about?
The idea seems pretty precise IMHO.
FF7 Remake is literally a remake.
Aerith knows the plot in advance in the remake.
Even the official guide basically states that.
Nojima also joins the train....
"Every single word is deliberate", so everything she seems to know is there for a reason
It is also worth noticing two thing.
First: in the original game killing Aerith was the easy opt-out for the Cloud-Aerith-Tifa triangle. Kill one of the two females, the survivor becomes Cloud "destined one".
Now... you may have noticed in the ending of Remake part 1 that they seem to be already planning another solution to that issue...
also remember the Japan only ads. Was about TEN MINUTE long and had this exchange...

A- Anyway you..
B- Yes?
A- Have you never played FF7?
B- Well.. I haven't.. rather.. No
A- What about you?
C- Well, I have... I mean.. I've watched it.
A- The scene that remains in your memories?
C- Whaaa.... the event where Cloud dresses up as a girl!
A- Full score answer!!
C- Oh, and when Aerith.. Seph...
A- Ah! Stop!! You can't say That!
B- I know (about) Aerith
C- Right right right
B- It was written on the web.
C- Seph....
A- Wait wait wait..... What have you guys done!
B- Seems like there is another route
Notice the odd references to "mother" and the final line...
> A- However, young one.. The important talk starts here. What I have been talking about now.. is about the 1997 Original game. BUT! What we do from here on.. will happen in the new 2020 Final Fantasy Remake! FF7 of 2020! In FF7!
A- Has the past changed? no... Or it stayed the same?
and guess what... when they have this exchange... some shadows seems to lurk outside the windows...
btw, it is also quite suspect that when recreating shots from the original game they decided to remake this one:
Remember: the first one is an impossible picture, by the time you see the Highwind in the game Aerith is already gone. That picture can only be seen in the save slots screen.
yet they remade Aerith to stand in the same place.
> Aerith: Hey, Cloud. Did you see the Airship at Junon?
Cloud: …I heard it was big, but I didn't expect it to be THAT big.
Aeris: That was REALLY something. Hey, do you think I could get on it?
Cloud: I'll take you someday
Either they are planning for the biggest red herring of gaming history making her live a little longer to trick players and then going Chrono Cross "how you dared to try to change fate now everything is worse because of you"... and in that case they are also planning Square bankrupt because fans WILL riot and never forgive them...
or this time she lives.
19:01
@SPArcheon those new whisper enemies that seem to be trying enforce the "original" storyline
@Yuuki That oddly seems something you would see in KH.
Now.. who is directing this thing?
Same guy.
That said, the remake already removed two out of three of my personal issues with FF7
a) made the Don Corneo part more bearable with the Honey Bee being completely different.
b) removed the nightmare fuel lines about the plan to use Red XIII to get more ancients.
if they also remove Aerith death, it will be perfect
@Yuuki BTW, can I assume you saw all the remake first episode including the ending?

@SPArcheon I haven't played it but watched some stuff online as I don't have a Playstation but it's been awhile so my memory might be fuzzy.

@Yuuki actually i wonder about that. while the visions look the same one thing i picked up was with the encounter with President Shinra in Shina HQ. when Sephiroth kills 2 characters take a look at where his blade is, there's that same dust/particle effect with both people yet we see one lives thanks to the Whispers
we know that the other stabbed person is supposed to die in the original yet i wonder if The Whispered saved them aswell because why would they need to make sure they died
then you have them wanting to try and contain Rufus inside the Shina Building and then apparently hurting Jessie before the Reactor 5 mission, in the original she was on the mission because you meet up with her in the Reactor and she apologises about the Fake ID's having been too good which triggered Shinra's Security
it makes me think that maybe while the future The Whispers are showing looks the same and their actions might make that future appear, there is something else in the future they want we are not seeing
at the same time the visions that sort of confirmed that the Whispers are trying to make the original ending appeared weren't given willingly. they only appeared after the Whisper Harbinger took significant damage which might be Cloud and his party seeing the future they are making with their current actions
and ofcause if the Whispers take anything from the Lifestream there is a chance they are thralls of Jenova depending on how contaminated the Lifestream is at that point (in Advent Children Geostigma was caused by Jenova's further contamination of the Lifestream)
@SPArcheon but Hojo is much worse
like despite what Hojo had planned, i think Red XIII had more to his plan because i can't imagine he had counted of Barret to shoot the containment cell and for Hojo to open the door
like one way i was thinking was that Red pounces on Aerith and lets her know his plan to have Aerith throw him off and he throws himself against the glass pretending that Aerith's thrown him off with such force that he is gravely hurt. because Hojo hasn't gotten the results he wants from his precious specimen (Red) he rushs in to check on him only for Red to maul Hojo
