That is something that will be the very interesting consequence to covid. How much offices will be not renewed because the team went full remote?

was seeing an old coworker that now has his own business put the office on facebook marketplace to pass it to someone else... the rent on his office was 3k a month

the calculation is pretty easy if you basically would save the equivalent of the salary of one employee by not having an office

I have no idea if they ever had an office, but yeah it seems way more common now

@Fredy31 yeah, and it's not just rent that's relevant here: the company would also save at least some money on all those little expenses that come with a fully functional office, like coffee for all employees, stationery, janitorial services, electricity, water, gas, etc

@Fredy31 I don't have the exact numbers, but my employer probably pays well over $10k a month for rent (which probably includes at least some of the utilities)

I'm no pro in building MMOs... but wouldn't having your health client side make it very easy to hack?

Every headline about New World makes it sound like that MMO was made by fucking amateurs, not one of the biggest companies on the planet

@Fredy31 No, it appears to be that the NW client pauses when it's moved, which is something relatively normal for games, but usually the client isn't authoritative in multiplayer games

but still, that would mean that the server checks if the window is unresponsive before giving you damage?

@Memor-X I just read an article this morning that they had made their own plates design and had it back in their shop

all that with the plates on the PS5, how they are easily removable, Its very probable that it was a concept that was built in, those customisable plates. The PS5 was designed to have the possibility to do so.

But at the last minute, a guy on the board that what he says goes said 'No.' And so no customisable plates even if all the groundwork is done

Would be very weird that they created those plates in a way that is easlily switchable and woops, they slap down anybody that tries to capitalise on it, and dont do it themselves, and they don't do it for no reason at all

I can get through Raven Beak phase 1 with full health and missiles but I just ran out in phase 2

Based on the speedrun, I think regular shots are pretty effective in phase 2, also there are way more counter opportunities than I realised

I wish there was a better button to put speed booster on because I don't like it on L3 but I can't think of any other good remap

I'm not sure why it's not automatic like other games though

In SM it was on a separate button because you had three speeds: jogging, running (with speed boost held down) and boosted (after the speed boost kicks in when you've been running for a bit)

And there were definitely jumps that were easier to make without running

(the bracket for my bed's center support beam broke, but IKEA was able to order a new set for me but they said it could take a week)

I'd be more concerned about the metal brackets on the sides. I would bump into those all the time

@Unionhawk I don't know if you live alone or not but moving the mattress to another room temporarily and sleeping on the floor could be better.

You're definitely less likely to injure yourself getting in/out of bed that way.

My bed collapsed one too many times (after the first failure it was never the same) and I wound up just throwing it out and putting the mattress straight on the floor.

Beds are overrated.
