Apple stuff is really well made though. Overpriced IMO, but it's reliable.

@Wipqozn Yeah, that's the main advantage Apple has: They maintain the entire ecosystem, so they can control every detail of the device and make it last long enough. Generally speaking, an iPhone will get OS updates for 5 years after release, even the cheaper models. My iPhone SE, released in the iOS 9 days, will still get iOS 14. I don't know of any Android models which were released when Android 4 was a thing that are getting Android 9.

My main issue with iOS (having attempted to use it as my daily driver for a while) is that SwiftKey is garbage, and so is the built in keyboard and my ability to type is severely impacted.

I can deal with the other things which are different/weird and would probably get used to them individually, but typing on iOS is crap

@fredley Apple added a native swipe keyboard for certain languages in iOS 13, and it works pretty well for English, I've found. It makes some mistakes from time to time, but I think it uses the onboard AI chip to learn your vocabulary

Like, the Google Photos app automatically backs up/deletes all your photos so you don't run out of space. But the bundled OnePlus gallery app keeps copies anyway, so all your photos are double-stored. This is a big issue for my partner.

Yeah, iOS feels so much less powerful than Android in so many ways. I was quite surprised. There's lots of stuff that makes me want to switch to iOS (AppleTV remote, Airdrop, Apple watch, DarkSky), but the OS feels a few years behind Android.

Simple stuff like organising your home screen is just stupid: Icons flow to the top of the page, so you can't an icon in the bottom right unless you've filled the screen. Why? Infuriating limitation.

You can, and eventually should, but for the most part, it's better used gaining influence, or saving.

You need 80 in order to open a portal.

There's two more vices that drain stats; avarice and sloth.

Avarice is the more important one to try to keep a lid on; you sell your resources instead of use them.
