@ShyamK not an insult, me trying to figure out what you were getting at. I didn't notice that you were indicating my mistake of thinking of craze as a verb.
@ShyamK It was implied by what you said as I for some reason thought of crazies as a people who craze which is nonsense as craze isn't a verb, is it. You are correct as near as I can tell.
@AshleyNunn There are 2 general delivery times here for packages it seems, either 12:30pm or 4:30pm. I knew it was supposed to be coming today but I kind of forgot about the 12:30pm option.
@ickleislands I can only find it in the Scrabble dictionary. Even Merriam-Webster doesn't list it although it redirects it to lazy so it might be indicative as the word for those who laze. The anagrammer definition lists it as an adjective or verb, but not a noun for those who laze. Inconclusive.
@StrixVaria I've got Marchocyas and Jezeb the Conjuror, but I can't remember where either. I think Marchocyas was from one of the Act 4 randungeons (if you can call the ones in act 4 random), but I can't be certain nor remember which one. Jezeb, I recall facing in one of the Halls of Agony when hunting certain achievements (I think I was killing Butcher with no damage for untouchable), but can't recall which.
It seems to me that if you send out an early probe (say, before your first pylon) you could steal both of your opponent's gas geysers before they would usually get one. You would have to delay your gateway until about 14 supply. But this should allow you to get warp gate much earlier than your op...
Blizzard has stated that the "budget" for item stats goes from 1 to 63 - does anyone know what the stat budget is for Blacksmith-crafted gear? Does upper level blacksmith gear have a budget of 63 in which case you might be able to get Act IV-worthy gear by breaking down Act I gear and recreating...
I plan to connect 4 XBox 360 controllers to my PC and play a soccer game as local multiplayer. But which one does support this?
PES 10/11/12?
FIFA 10/11/12?
Does the order have any influence on the story? E.g. Playing the protoss missions after Hanson left the ship (because all of her missions are complete), maybe leads to a missing cut scene because she can't comment it.
After finishing the Civil War quest line in Skyrim I noticed that I had not gotten the War Hero achievement. This achievement can apparently be missed depending on the outcome of Season Unending. As I am playing on the PC, I was wondering if it would be possible to use a console command to force ...
Let's say I clear an entire dungeon level and know I can proceed safely all the way to the end, but am on the complete opposite side of the dungeon than the exit. In past Diablo games, there was a way I could click on the map or mini map, and my character would proceed the long distance to that l...
@ickleislands I would've still been about, but my machine locked up. I've been trying to diagnose the cause, but nothing conclusive yet. I swapped out the primary HDD, as I suspected it might be failing contrary to its having passed all of SeaTools' tests. If that's not it, I'm suspecting other hardware failure with the most likely and problematic culprit in this case being the motherboard.
@ickleislands I'm fairly rough with my machines. They don't ever really get a lot of downtime. I watch temp and such and that's usually not a problem, but I tend to consume HDDs fairly consistently. I'd like to go solid state in hopes of alleviating this issue, but size/cost/availability are hampering my plans to this end.
@ickleislands I have a backup drive in this machine. Considered setting it up as a raid, but like having the extra space - gaming laptop that I use for work and everything else under the sun. When I started suspecting this drive, I picked up a backup and have been keeping a clone handy in case it started acting up.
ye in the past I was too young to have the immediately available disposable income for emergency purchases, so things tended to get left just a little bit too long and then it was too late
@ickleislands losing 2 years of stuff was pretty costly, especially given the inopportune timing (is it ever opportune?). I'm not letting it happen again. For now, I'll just use my machine as usual and if it locks up again, I'll have to assume it's another piece of hardware failing and may have to take it in - I am so not a hardware guy :sigh
@ickleislands I have a slightly older tower idling here that I could rely upon if I got desperate. Decent specs for a 4 year old box, but it's an XP build and requires a fair amount of updating to bring it to where I want/need it. I also just really like the portability/ease-of-access/ease-of-maintenance of my lappy.
@fbueckert I've found 2 legendaries so far, both from loot demons. They were rather lame though compared to the gear I've now got and so I believe I no longer have them.
@fbueckert I've never actually done AH. I know it's foolish pride, but from what I've seen of its effects, it appears to unbalance things and feels like cheating (I know it's not, but it feels wrong to me in the same way) so I probably salvaged them or gave them away (I do give stuff to friends playing with me ;) ).
The biggest challenge in using Sweeping Wind is keeping it active by landing melee atacks. For this, mobility is going to be your best friend. Anything with +% Movement Speed is going to help you get to your next target quicker, but I prefer to simply use:

@skovacs1 Normal and Nightmare are simple enough to not need optimization. It's when you get into Hell difficulty that you need to start unloading the cruft.
@skovacs1 @fbueckert I've been on inferno but still prefer farming achievements, for me skipping packs to kill bosses feels like cheating so I've been levelling alts and farming achievements
Got to half way through Act 3 before I decided it wasn't fun to play like that
@Ktash Yeah, it's a pet peeve of mine, unless it's obviously harmful or something really seriously problematic like embedded goatse images or something, it's better to leave the objectionable content visible so that it gets flagged faster and disappears sooner. Especially during off hours when mods aren't actively clearing the queue.
@ickleislands The issue is that Act II would be a big step up in difficulty even if the mobs didn't gain any health or damage.
@OrigamiRobot Oh, by all means, it's good to break them. But leave what they did visible. I tend to redirect their links to something like disney.com just to make it obvious.
@LessPopMoreFizz yes it would, and that difficulty difference by itself would have been fine. The fact Blizzard have admitted they couldn't kill inferno themselves with 3+ years of testing and that they figured it would be OK is where the problem actually is
Instead, they know how to design mechanics effectively, so they do that, and then just use math to figure out what players are capable of, add some arbitrary percentage to that, and then just throe it out there and let the player base figure it out.
Sometimes, like Heroic Lich King, it works magnificently. Other times, like C'thun, it ends up being... problematic.
"A few months later, we hear that nobody at Blizzard has even tested Inferno mode and that right before launch they decided to double all the mob health and damage numbers "because we thought players would be better than us"."
@tiddy They admitted that they didn't play test the highest difficulties with 'real' characters. I'm sure they cheated their way through it to bug hunt and such.
The problem with Act II is, quite fundamentally, that the mobs would be harder if they did the same damage as in Act I. Act II is a problem at every strata of difficulty.
It's just way out of line with the rest of the game.
The Binding of Isaac with the Wrath of the Lamb expansion has two different secret rooms on each floor. It seems that there are some specific rules that determine where the rooms can appear on the map. What are those rules?
My pawn returns from adventuring with other players in two ways:
with the name of who has been using her, Rift Crystals, a rating, possibly an item or some equipment, and a comment
with nothing more than some small items, typically the kind she can gather herself
When I'm using other people's...
So to say that the problem with inferno Act II is the lack of playtesting is missing the point - especially when so many people just outright skipped Inferno Act II and started farming Act III instead.
@ickleislands Blizzard hasn't done actual difficulty/play testing for their most difficult content for years.
@ickleislands I played wow in a US top 10 guild. With all due respect, I happen to think that the difficulty of raid content is the only thing Blizzard hasn't consistently screwed up over the past few years.
Most of Act II's difficulty is compounded by the fact that the mobs all have really annoying abilities. Act III mobs are, for the most part, much more straightforward.
