Spider lady is the first boss where I really expect to see a difference. Gargoyles went even smoother than my regular attempts haha. The hand axe is actually pretty fancy.

And you should be able to just put the Sanctus on your back and two-hand another weapon and still have the health regen.

@StrixVaria because of the non-stat scaling weapon upgrade paths like lightning and fire your damage isn't actually that much lower compared to a regular one. The key difference is your low health, stamina and very limited weapon selection.

Basically you still hit hard, but not dying is waaaay harder

The only "hard" part about the fight caves is the endboss. The waves are pretty easy because everything is savespottable or doesn't hit hard.

I forget who said it, but yeah LotR Online was too old for it's own good. The intro story mission was well-made, and there was a lot of baseline playability for classes given up front, but after a good half hour to an hour of play, I had only fought 4 enemies and still wasn't close to any real content.

Given that it took nearly 3 hours to install, then an hour and a half to patch, that was not a worth-while experience.

It's the kind of game where you need a much deeper connection to Tolkien lore so that you can attach to the game, because as a game it doesn't hold up to even Korean MMO standards of today. :'(

Maybe it gets better, me and my group don't know, but the experience didn't leave us wanting to find out

The combat system, at a glance at least, looks really good, at least for Target-Lock style skill system

I remember giving WoW a try when they first started their Free-to-20 system.

I ended up making it to level 10 and having so much more fun with the fact that I could get on top of the lamp posts and sit on them.

That character hasn't budged from that lamp post since unless they've changed that map.

I honestly wish my friends would be more open to playing FFXIV. It's close enough to WoW that I think they'd like it, it has some UI features that I really appreciate, the ability to switch classes is fantastic, and I adore its gathering and crafting system.

How is fishing in WoW?

BDO had a good fishing system where geographic locations in the water were more likely to have schools of fish, but you had to actually go there when there were schools of fish to get good fishing rates.

In Legion, fishing in pools of fish has a chance of dropping rare bait. You can use that rare bait to attract rare fish. If you have the special fishing rod (which you unlock through a rather involved questline), you can use those rare fish to upgrade your fishing rod.

Eventually, you can upgrade your fishing rod to the point where it has an active to teleport you to the nearest pool of fish and wielding it lets you walk on water or turn into a fish/dolphin with a fast swim speed.

The only problem with BDO is that the PvE aspect for small groups dies down almost immediately once you hit PvP soft-cap. You need to have a big guild to start doing world bosses and most end-game content is focused on PvP and Silver farming.

That sounds ridiculously powerful.

It's not so much impossible with today's tech as much as it wouldn't really sell, I don't think. I personally hate Rust, for example.

I tried wurm online once cause I wanted to be a sea trader in an MMO but I couldn't get into it
