At the end of every level, I'm getting a bonus added to my score for how many cattle I hit. However, everything is so flashy and bright that I'm not quite sure what they're talking about.
I think it's referring to the golden cows on pedestals that occasionally show up, but on level 3, I consiste...
I don't visit other rooms for more than just a quick glance when something's going on there and it gets linked here, so I can't say I got much experience with that
@BlueBarren that's so oldschool :P
last time I actually turned my PC off was for a windows update for couple hours while I had a nap, because I accidentally clicked "shut down and update", instead of "restart and update"
I think the last time before that was sometime last year, when I was out of town for a couple days
if windows didn't nag me to restart with updates, my PC would have a really high uptime counter :P
Hmm... has anyone here ever kept listening to a song because you really enjoy the melody/harmonics even though the lyrics have long since started gotten annoying/stale?
@BlueBarren for me it's mostly because I have like 30 tabs open in chrome and I don't like having to deal with whatever auto-plays when I start up chrome
it also used to be because I'm on IRC and I like to keep log of what was going on, but since I got a Pi and I'm running the core of my client on it, it doesn't matter anymore
@Beedrill well I like to be power conscious and I also don't want to hear it whirring while I sleep

My tattoo made it into Patrick Rothfuss' latest blog post! Admittedly it's a bunch of people with Kingkiller tattoos but still mine is there and it is first
In Pure and Classic mode, you get shields at the end of each level. I believe that you always get 2, but I could be wrong.
Is there any other way to get shields, like during a level?
@SaintWacko I used to have a PC which would often not come back from a deep sleep mode or if it did, a lot of things wouldn't work properly and a restart was needed
On Eventide, if you leave the island, you abandon the shrine challenge.
But if you throw one of the balls so far away that you have to leave to get the ball, what can you do? Did you just make yourself have to die and restart the challenge?
@Elizer I would say that assuming a national healthcare system doesn't have backups is problematic for a whole host of reasons, but this is bureaucracy we're talking about...
@GnomeSlice It's a bit difficult to say that in general all pop lyrics are getting more repetitive. That would involve taking a census of all the pop songs released year by year. The more accurate conclusion is that repetitive pop lyrics are getting more popular.
Taking 15,000 songs from the Billboard Hot 100 certainly provides you with a lot of data points, but it comes with the selection bias of choosing popular songs.
@Chippies Well, you could do that. I was thinking concepts though.
Like "is this song about drug addiction?" You could certainly draw a strong conclusion just by seeing whether certain keywords pop up, but it's more of a qualitative judgement than a quantitative one.
@Yuuki that would be harder without an AI of sorts, but on a basic level, if the songs use mostly same words, it's possible that they also sing about same stuff
Scattered in among the random junk in Fallout 4 are a couple of recurring toys, that are of rather large size. You find parts for a Giddyup Buttercup (and a complete one, at one point), a lot of Jangles the Moon Monkey, and even some alien toy.
Is there any significance to collecting these beyon...
One of the strangest traps in Fallout 4 is the motion-sensitive cymbal monkey trap: a toy monkey that starts playing the cymbals when you get near it, with a trigger attached to it.
You can't pick these up, or disarm them for parts, or anything. But is there a way (possibly a mod) to make your o...
I want to install the bounding box mod for 1.11.2 Vanilla but i have no clue how to do this and where the file goes.I am playing in a single player world so i have access to all the files.I just need a video or an explanation on how to do this and put it in the right spot so i can use it.
> If TMNT was based off gaming developers instead of Italian artists, then what would be their names? > Kojima, Miyamoto, Newell, and Molyneux. > Newell can't possibly be the third one...
There's one I know of close enough to me; I've just never gone.
It's not really a place you want to bring young children too, so that adds difficulty.
I've never been to Texas; I'm not opposed to going, but I just don't really know why I'd choose Texas over Florida or California if I'm going to fly somewhere else in the country.
Big Bend is beautiful, especially if you go in the spring or fall. Austin has a lot of cultural stuff and great food (although good luck getting your hands on some Franklin barbecue). The Riverwalk in San Antonio is always lively.
@GodEmperorDune I guess it could seem like that to an average music listener, but if you actually took your time and paid attention to it, you'd realize that it's a masterpiece
@GodEmperorDune I mean, that's, like, your opinion, man
I'll admit, some of the songs are kinda wacky (for some reason he puts the wacky songs in the beginning of the album, maybe to weed out the people that can't appreciate the ART)
but there's a lot that are great
the newest album is a bit more consistent in quality, imho
I find that it's best to leave the music in background while doing other stuff at first listening and then eventually the greatest bits will get your attention anyway and eventually you can just listen to it all like you would with "normal" music
I find that it's best to leave the music in background while doing other stuff at first listening and then eventually the greatest bits will get your attention anyway and eventually you can just listen to it all like you would with "normal" music
to be able to listen to it like you would with "normal" music, you have to be able to recognize and appreciate the effort gone into the making of it all
listening to it in the background helps ease into it
it's a lot to take in if you're not used to his style
the first time I listened to it I thought "what the hell is this?", but it was catchy enough to leave playing and I learned to love it within 10-15 minutes
it's music you can listen to again and again and learn new things about it every time
there's also a ton of easter eggs hidden in the songs
@remedygames @steam_games @remedygames is a shame. Alan Wake has soudtrack issues, Quantum Theory have stupid deals… https://twitter.com/i/web/status/863071530481315841
I like playing League of Legends. The mechanics are fun. The toxicity is not. I do not want to be in that environment, but I still want to play. Are there any MOBAs that are not toxic? Or are all MOBAs toxic by nature?
@GodEmperorDune of course not. I was just replying to the fact that @DanmakuGrazer seems to be picking on the part where the guy is asking for a "non-toxic game", when it's the gamers that are toxic, not the game, which is a moot point
@DanmakuGrazer maybe in a single player game, a toxic community doesn't affect the game too much. but in a game that has a high level of multiplayer interaction...
