Q: Unable to play multiplayer on Source games, other games cannot authenticate with steam

So for a while now I've had an issue with some games on Steam and I haven't been able to resolve them at all. On Garry's Mod, I cannot join any servers. Q: Running FOSE in Steam version, but letting steam keep track of the game

I'm having problems trying to use FOSE for Fallout 3 via Steam. I followed this answer but Steam doesn't keep track nor keep the "now playing" in chat after i launch fallout, perhaps because FOSE close after injecting code in FO3. Any other way to launch FOSE through steam?
