Valve, why are you so terrible?
@TimStone whoops
@TimStone don't worry I'll be happy to take your cards
"lol you changed phones and we make you remove the old Steam Guard before setting up the new one so [middle finger]"
17:21
@TimStone will it work if you try going through the steam client itself?
I was, so no dice
Incidentally the "deactivate to use a new device" is obnoxiously common with 2FA schemes

Q: Xbox 360...has my xbox 360?

Yanis DimopoulosI bought an xbox 360 1 year ago. I have a rented warehouse, and I keep my consoles, every console that was in market, from the spectrum to playstation 3. I own 359 original Ps3 games, 152 xbox360 Games, 247 Ps2 Games, and about 580 Pc games. I keep them for my children, and for the children's ch...

Ask Steam

Also, do you really like yourself enough to consider you as a friend?
How many episodes in are you?
17:35
@Yuuki if I don't who would
I'm not friends with @Yuuki, that guy's a jerk.
@RedRiderX just finished 2
@badp Ah well then
So did you ___ ___ or did ___ ___?
But that's ep1?
17:39
spoiler alert: most of my friends did not water the plant
@TimStone Weird. Mine didn't make me do that when I switched phones. :o
monsters
@Fluttershy Really? I tried to set it up on the new phone and it was all "Nah, you gotta remove it on your existing device first" -_-
also I thought I did help Warren!
oh well
@TimStone mine handled it ok as well
17:42
I'm calling shenanigans
i guess going from iphone to iphone it cloned the secret key or whatever makes it tick
Oh, okay
@badp I did
@badp Hmm so this continues the streak of me being the only person I know that wasn't able to finish the major plot point of ep 2 how I wanted.
@arda what game is this?
17:43
@GodEmperorDune life is strange
@RedRiderX if it's what we're talking about then I did reload the checkpoint.
S-S-S-S-S-SAVE SCUMMMMM
@badp Aww I didn't think I could do that.
@badp The ultimate time travel.
I have another choice to regret anyway
So apparently some group in Turkey attacked santa in a mall and... you really have to see it to understand (not nsfw, explicit nor gore, but contains 3 turkish men holding a gun to a man in santa costume)
> we don't celebrate christmas because it's non islamic
> proceeds to hold a gun to santa's head
17:46
Oh my
(they did not fire at him, but still)
That's like saying you don't believe in education and take a janitor hostage.
I completely forgot that John Rhys-Davies played the holographic da Vinci in Star Trek Voyager
@Yuuki More like taking Reader Rabbit hostage.
Whether or not you believe in education, the janitor's only there because it's his job.
I'm pretty sure there are plenty of mall Santas that aren't Christian.
17:48
@arda but i thought the original st nicholas was FROM turkey?
@GodEmperorDune Yes, from Antalya.
or hatay or something not sure
so
um
when people tell you
"water the plant but don't drown it"
that doesn't mean "water the plant every other day"
@arda wikipedia says demre
@badp Depends on the plant.
that still means "water the plant every day"
so fuck you game
17:49
12 secs ago, by Yuuki
@badp Depends on the plant.
@GodEmperorDune demre is a town in antalya
@Yuuki plant isn't a cactus
Demre is a town and its surrounding district in the Antalya Province on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, named after the river Demre. Demre is the Lycian town of Myra, the home of Saint Nicholas of Myra, the historical man later developed into the figure of Santa Claus. The district was known as Kale until it was renamed in 2005. A substantial Christian community of Greeks lived in Demre (Myra) until the 1920s when they were forced to migrate to Greece after the Population exchange between Greece and Turkey. The abandoned Greek villages in the region are a striking reminder of this exodus...
@arda so you were right all along!
@badp If it dirt is still pretty moist don't water it that day?
I think
17:50
> The district was known as Kale until it was renamed in 2005 [after being confused for salad]
also those rooms carved into the cliff look amazing
@RedRiderX the pixels aren't quite high quality enough for this
@GodEmperorDune I'm never wrong. Even when I say imam hatipler kapatilsin
It depends on the plant.
Some plants are weaker to fungus or other infections and so you want the soil to be relatively dry. Those you water every other day or even less frequently.
17:51
@badp waterboarded the plant, basically
@badp I just kept watering it
I just watered it for two days straight

Philately

Proposed Q&A site for those who collect, catalogue, or analyse stamps, their ephemera, and history.

Currently in definition.

Which is reasonable enough, but given that I have a gmail email it seems kind of odd to frame in that context
@TimStone it would really suck if gmail got breached
@arda i don't remember if dns will just point you to the parent domain and leave it up to your webserver to handle differently
i've always set up dns (or the equivalent in hostfile) for stuff like that
quick science shows you need to use DNS
> ping lolwut.google.com
Ping request could not find host lolwut.google.com. Please check the name and try again.
I love abusing the upload image feature to shorten image urls
18:01
@Wipqozn I also do it because sometimes, image links have a tendency to break.
Twitter is really bad for this.
yeah
There, just donated $100 to my local SPCA
aka an animal shelter, the one I adopted my cat Goblin from last year
Was shortening the image since I include the picture of her in the donation
@Yuuki in winter my cacti is every 8 weeks
why does your cat have a snake on her o_O

Q: Do the speedrun badges count ingame time or real time?

DanmakuGrazerAll of the missions in the game have an unlockable badge tied to a speedrun challenge, where you have to clear the mission withing a certain time limit. Seeing how often a player normally saves and reloads during the game, does the time limit account for that, or does it refer to real time?

Q: Dwarf fortress - dwarves not using wheelbarrows to haul building material

user129186I'm building a stone structure far away from my stone stockpile. When the dwarves are hauling stone to the structure, they get incredibly slow. How can I get them to use wheelbarrows to haul this material to the building being built?

@Lazers2.0 set the stockpile to use wheelbarrows
ui don't think they use them if it's directly from source

@djsmiley2k wut
@GodEmperorDune accepted
@arda funny story, actually
not sure if i should tell it though
@Texenox well I don't know either........................ upto you and my ..............................isstuck
18:33
@GodEmperorDune i can name almost every person i've worked closely with
@djsmiley2k i am a terrible person, i forget names in like 6 months
@GodEmperorDune I think that's 'normal'
tl;dr my dot key is broken
I have this weird thing, I remember the names of the kids we met on holiday when i was 12
(i'm 32)
that is a superpower
18:35
It takes me a lot to learn names but I rarely forget them
^^ this
Once I've commited something to memory, it's commited
@GodEmperorDune anyone whos had any kind of affect on me, i've remembered D:
It's surprisingly easier for foreign names though, and harder for turkish ones
@djsmiley2k yeah same
every point in time i've been emotionally touched, I've remembered...
i also am terrible at learning names to begin with, like i'll interact with someone on a near daily basis for months and have no idea what their name is but it's too late to ask them again
I remember walking into the wrong class at primary school, because no one had explained at the 'new' year in school you went into the next class up
rofl
18:37
@djsmiley2k nonoonononon yOU JUST REMINDED ME OF A TERRIBLE THING THAT HAPPENED IN PRIMARY SCHOOL
sorry kiddo
you can't forget
memories can't be removed
or at least mine seemingly can't, no matter how much i want to forget
and I just lost the game and have to announce it I guess
I remember a guy called Richard Draper
who in .... yr... errr i must of been yr 12 and him like yr 10
lent me his bonkers CD (I don't remember which one, 8 I think)
and I never gave it back :/;
:/
He then years later ended up going out with a girl who a few weeks previous had decided she was infatuated with me, but went so far to tell people she was going out with me
similar case, but with borrowing a book, dammit, why did you make me remember that?
this was then helped along by my then ex girlfrield also telling people this
18:39
aAND I also have a book Ididn't take back, I also remember that
at which point I met said girl in town and was like 'errr, hi, so appently we are going out?'
I was never interested in said girl btw
just not my type
her name is kirsty.
oh boy you also made me remember the time school made me break up with my girlfriend (more like close friends)
eventually she ended up going out with another friend of mine, while we were in 6th form. Colin.
I did not have a girlfriend ever since. Absolutely traumatic experience.
From Colin I remember 'Colin Workagogo' who you should all friend on facebook
18:41
yeah early relationships are the worst
It was such a big hit in self-esteem
@arda one day you'll make someone very happy
until then, don't worry about it
just enjoy people, being people
@djsmiley2k wut even is that
Hahaha
It's a balloon we made near christmas at a old job
18:44
@djsmiley2k Then ex-girlfriend? Is she your girlfriend again?
@djsmiley2k Actually stuff's been rather nice lately for me
and for some reason we gave it a facebook account
@Yuuki no, she'd become my ex like 2 days before and thought spreading this would 'help'
Do I hear... DRAMA?
@djsmiley2k Yeah, but if she was your ex then, she should still be your ex now, right?

Q: Failed to verify username craftbukkit server?

K Split XFirst of all: I do not own premium, I use mineshafter. I correctly configured by bukkit server, the ip and everything is alright. The only problem is when I go to login from mineshafter, I get the message failed to verify username, and then I can't login.

It's the "then" qualifier that I'm interested in. As far as I know, once someone becomes your ex, they're always your ex unless you get together again.
"Then ex-" implies that "ex-" is a temporary qualifier.
@Yuuki im likely usiong it wromg
im using as in recently
18:49
@fredley the best part is that it has "Look Inside"
"my ex at the time" then could work, but is still ambiguous.
@fredley imagine still caring this much about the election more than a month after the result
@Texenox not to be a downer but some of us very much care about the election
Trump can (and looks like will try to) do a lot of damage in a lot of areas
some minority groups are concerned for their physical safety, which is not something to make light of
and why
@Texenox It's almost as if we just elected a President.
Trump is not unique in this. People had a lot of feelings when Obama was elected and when Bush was elected.
18:53
@Yuuki yes, we did
@Texenox because my wife (holding our two month old baby) was yelled at and threatened by a stranger while walking down the street
@GodEmperorDune >implying that has anything to do with the election
Not caring about an election after a month is a sign that there's something wrong with the population not that there's something right with it.
@Texenox he mentioned trump in his rants
@Texenox It does. It's told awful, horrible people that it's okay to be awful and horrible
Trump did it and he got elected president
18:55
hmmmmmm
we had that over here
Putting aside Trump himself, people should be talking about the president and the election after an election.
@djsmiley2k yes, MP jo cox was killed for supporting remain
which is apalling
i'll be concerned when he does get put into office
If Hillary won, people should still be talking about the election. If Bernie won, people should still be talking about the election.
But if a goat won, nobody would.
18:56
@Yuuki if not the election then the policies that are going to change
fair enough
but then even so what is the point of releasing an empty book for £7 as a political gag
it's just obnoxious
@Texenox money.
@Texenox yeah i don't get why its so expensive
@Texenox It's a... joke?
phpthegoodparts.tumblr.com does the same joke for much cheaper
18:58
@Texenox This is the point of view that I'm somewhat confused about when it comes to politicians. "Wait until Trump does something", do you realize what politicians and lawmakers do? All they do is talk and talk. Once they "do something", that "something" is a law. And now you've waited a bit too long.
@GodEmperorDune Well creating a new physical paperback book probably has a fixed minimum cost.
cc @Wipqozn
>joke
"Wait for results" does not apply to politicians, imo.
