@RavenDreamer wa ?
@agent86 How did this not get any stars? corrects this injustice
@Wipqozn Maybe cuz it was linked the other day
@FallenAngelEyes MY word!
You trickster @agent86! star removed
lol
I just mostly remember Ashley commenting on it
What a scoundrel that @agent86 is.
Good morning @Mana
13:13
Goooooood mooooooooooooorning
Midterm time for you @mana?
@Wipqozn Ah, yes, second of six tomorrow
@Mana Good luck!
@Mana oh my. Six?
I only have 3, luckily. First two on Wednesday.
Thankfully, they've been spread out so I have three before the week-long break, three after
Finals...are probably not going to be so forgiving.
13:17
ah okay
Why re you taking 6 courses?
Just that hardcore?
ayup.
now I'm gonna go grab some hardcore breakfast
bye
@Wipqozn Naw, this is parenting
the bad thing is now I think I recognize the person
@Mana It's on now.
13:21
and the gif suddenly got awesomer
Now this is parenting:
Now this is me going to grab breakfast bye.
@Wipqozn I read this guy's follow up posts on his FB wall. He actually seems like a really thoughtful, well-spoken guy.
@FallenAngelEyes I was being serious,if you thought I was joking.
I wish more parents had a back bone, and would take their kids stuff away for being ungrateful little shits.
Apparently they ended up having to get lawyers and put a copyright on the vid because there's impersonators and stuff that are trying to post as him and whatnot.
13:29
Oh wow. That's pretty intense.
Exactly what are these people trying to post...?
With people uploading pretending to be him, he said he's afraid that if something ticks someone off, he'll end up with a gun-toting maniac on his lawn endangering his family.
His wall is open, so you can read his comments here.
@Wipqozn I fully endorse making @spugsley's baby hate the center of attention

Q: Play PS2 data on remastered PS3 game

Bali CI have reading up on this online but I haven't found anything. Say I were to copy data from my PS2 memory card and transfer it to my PS3, using Sony's memory card adapter. Could I then use this data on a game made for the PS3? The game is Tomb Raider Anniversary, it has been re-made for the PS3 a...

@JuanManuel you had 3 questions pop up in the feed at once.
13:47
I was going to ask why so many people are here so early, but then I realised, it's still 2pm, regardless of when I got up.
@FallenAngelEyes A really thoughtful, well-spoken guy who posts his surname and her daughter's name on a youtube video humiliating her in a video that goes viral, and his reaction to that is putting ads on the video?
I mean I doubt the ads are going to buy him even just a new bullet but seriously, I feel that was really in bad taste
I don't feel like saying "he did right" or "he did wrong" as I'm not a parent myself, but... I think everybody saying "you rock" say that because they'd never even imagine doing that to their own daughter, the laptop their own money bought and their own gun
it's more like "thank you for doing that so I don't have to, now I have something to scare my children with"
@badp If you go through and read his responses on his wall, he addresses the stuff you mentioned. He admitted he made a mistake by putting it on youtube and didn't expect it to go viral. I'm not going to quote everything he said there as it'd be really spammy.
@FallenAngelEyes I guess then that the problem is I can't see anything beyond the immediate comments to that post, where he didn't reply
I'm not too interested though
His wall is public.
That's where he's addressing stuff. Apparently CBS already offered them a tv show (he declined). o_O
I'm having one of those days where I can't focus on anything and I have no idea how I spent the last 2.5 hours.
I think just reading the internet.
14:09
@FallenAngelEyes It's probably public to everybody on facebook, but I don't have facebook.
His name is just black text to me from that page.
Again. Meh
He and his daughter have different problems now
@badp Ah, yeah, then you probably can't see it.
Whoa, bomb threat at Schiphol a bit ago
@OrigamiRobot You around?
@RonanForman I am.
How do you get a server to run a flat world?
level-type=FLAT
i think
whatever attribute says DEFAULT, change to FLAT
14:23
It worked, thanks.
But it will only give you 4 layers
oh god Mass Effect, why are you doing this to me nooooooooooo
it's like all of a sudden my mouse sensitivity is super high. I don't get it, I've already played 12+ hours with it being fine!
Now my camera's tweaking the hell out.
Mmmm, Mass Effect
Soon it will be time to ditch KOA and finish my ME2 replay.
If I only move if like, by a couple millimeters, it's okay
this is completely gamebreaking, I can't play like this >_<
brb gonna try rebooting
14:54
@OrigamiRobot >_>
@FallenAngelEyes Working now?
@Sterno Nope :(
Have you plugged anything else in recently, like an xbox controller?
0
Q: Are enemies scaled based on my level?

bwarnerOpen-ended games like this (including some previous Final Fantasy titles I believe) will adjust the level of monsters based on the characters level. Does that apply at all in Final Fantasy 13-2? If so, what are the details? Does it apply to both bosses and random monsters? Is it based on how ...

@FallenAngelEyes I have to resist the urge to comment on every mass effect question with that comic
@Lazers GREEN?!?! WHAT DEMONRY IS THIS?!?!
14:57
A few times when my mouse has wigged out it's been because something else got plugged in that's competing for input
@Sterno ...fffffffffffff. That apparently was it. I had my gamepad plugged in and completely forgot about it. THANK YOU!
Yay!
Sometimes PC gaming bugs are caused by the stupidest things.
@FallenAngelEyes PC mass effect bugs are pretty much why I bought an xbox. no lie.
played almost exclusively PC games (and PS2) up to the point of ME1, and then that game ruined it for me
lol
It can be kind of a lot of work nowadays to tweak everything to perfection, yeah. I complain about it too, but at the same time, I do like having the option to tweak, if I want to.
Though the inability to lessen the INSANE AMOUNT OF BLOOM AND LENS FLARES in ME1 is unfortunate.
On the other hand, it can be frustrating to have to futz with trying to get settings right for 2 hours before being able to play the game (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, DEAD ISLAND).
@agent86 I had a different experience. originally got ME for the xbox (since it was exclusive there at the time) but had trouble getting through the game since I found using a controller so cumbersome. Didn't actually finish the game until the PC version came out and I played that
@OrigamiRobot haha
@FallenAngelEyes I'm waiting for the day when communication on the internet will consist solely of copy/pasting webcomics.
@Sterno I regret seeing that in theatres
15:10
@FallenAngelEyes Why?
@FallenAngelEyes I'm still not sure why Spock let a weapon of mass destruction fall into their hands, rather than just, say, detonating his own ship while they were pulling him in
Although if I were to pick that movie apart, I guess that's pretty low on the list
Lens Flare: The Movie
The trailer with music from Two Steps From hell was pretty awesome though! Way better than the movie!
@Sterno They never even explained wtf "red matter" was. There was just so much dumb.
I thought it was pretty self-explanitory - it's red, and it is matter.
15:11
@RonanForman Because I feel I did not enjoy it enough to want to have spent money on it.
And it goes BOOM!
It also sort of creates singularities.
Someone should go ask about it on Movies & TV Beta :)
Unexplainable technology is a hallmark of Star Trek.
15:15
@JasonBerkan That's all Star Trek is. The writers actually wrote scripts and left blanks for technological explanations that were filled in later by someone who was really good at bullshit.
↑ This explains it all
That's the trailer that made me want to see the movie. I should have just watched the trailer 60 times instead
if you squirt
epic trailer music makes every movie better
@Sterno hahaha
15:16
@badp Where is the legend?
@OrigamiRobot who needs a legend?
It's points and lines between them.
Fill in your own conspiracy theory.
Expose the evil machinations of the bold rainbow lines.
Now I just rewatched that trailer again, and it made me want to see the movie, EVEN THOUGH I'VE SEEN IT AND KNOW IT'S NOT VERY GOOD
@Sterno Well, you can still enjoy a bad movie, nothing wrong with that
Why is the movie bad? I liked it
Use the dashed lines of wild speculation and the dotted lines of "it's true because aliens" to ultimately prove your point
15:20
I haven't seen any Star Trek except that movie.
And bits a pieces here and there of various series.

Q: what happened with my army?

RodolfoI'm new to CK2 (and CK in general) but played EU3 a lot. I'm trying CK2, and when my king died the next king (oldest son) could only raise like half the army (levies) I could before, what happened?

@RonanForman For me, the villian, his motivation, and his execution was all incredibly weak. But lens flares aside, I enjoyed most of the rest.
@OrigamiRobot You totally don't get to yell at me anymore for not having played Pokemon Snap
Not as much as I enjoy that trailer, though!
@FallenAngelEyes But you like pokemon. I don't care for Star Trek.
15:22
@OrigamiRobot I grew up watching TNG. Can't watch it anymore - primarily due to the aforementioned techno-babble BS.
@JasonBerkan My first exposure was an episode of DS9 where a lady was pretending to be a man by wearing big prosthetic ears. I was like "This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen."
@OrigamiRobot I haven't played nearly as much as anyone else here. I played Red and while I own Diamond/Plat, I've barely started them. (<-has focus issues)
@OrigamiRobot LOL
@OrigamiRobot Please don't remind me of N64 games, I've not finished DKR yet.
@RonanForman Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
15:28
Luckily, I don't own that one.
I liked the new star trek movie. I thought it was pretty darn good.
@OrigamiRobot Man, I could not play Turok, I got horrible motion sickness from that game.
@OrigamiRobot All I did with that game was cheat for all the weapons and invincibility and run around with the razor wind decapitating dinosaurs.
way, way better than most of the TNG movies
@StrixVaria Didn't everyone?
15:29
Decapitating dinosaurs
The cerebral bore was another favorite, actually.
Goldeneye 64 also made me really ill, but that one I liked enough to play through it.
I was pretty much curled up in the fetal position on my bed, controller in hand, going "one... more... mission..."
@FallenAngelEyes ugh, that sucks. I don't think I've ever gotten motion sickness from gaming, but my wife does on occasion.
the games that annoy me are the ones that want to go to a bright white screen occasionally, especially if they spend most of the time very dark
that'll give me a headache but quick :/
@agent86 yeah, skyrim does that. drives me nuts
@agent86 Turn off HDR lighting.
@agent86 It doesn't happen as often anymore because most games put a targeting reticule on there even in zoomed out view (which, iirc, Goldeneye didn't). That helps a lot, for me at least.
15:34
@StrixVaria this is more like... in the playstation era RPGs that would do those transitions to battle, they'd turn the screen completely white
Sometimes though, it'll still happen. I've had some troubles with HL2 even. If I feel myself start to get queasy, I just take a break.
@FallenAngelEyes I can pretty reliably make my wife ill by spinning in a circle real fast in almost any game
portal did terrible things to her, what with the shifting perspectives constantly
@agent86 This sounds like an amusing thing to leverage. Y'know, if you wanted her to kill you.
@agent86 Oh right. Yeah that was pretty annoying.
I was thinking since someone said skyrim, the HDR lighting in skyrim can be seriously obnoxious sometimes.
@FallenAngelEyes yeah. it's not a superpower to be taken lightly. some games she just can't watch. the vast majority she finds boring though, so it's all good :)
15:37
I'm honestly surprised there are no auto walk mods for minecraft.
@RonanForman Huh, there aren't? I find that surprising as well.
@agent86 My wife's the same way. She watched Portal for 10 minutes and then had to lay down for an hour. And when we were dating early on, I made the mistake of taking her to see Cloverfield.
@RonanForman Just have another window steal focus while you're walking. Instant auto-walk.
@Sterno ugh, those "shaky camera" movies that are all the rage post-blair witch are terrible.
@agent86 Chronicle would have been way better as just a "normal" movie instead of this garbage. Although the plot was too thin anyway to make anything substantial of it.
15:46
Is anyone able to help me with a minecraft thing?

Q: Is there a way to assign damage to multiple defenders?

BeofettI have noticed that whenever the computer blocks with multiple defenders, the computer clearly decides which distribution of damage is most advantageous. It does not seem to matter what order I assign the defenders; no matter whether I assign them first, last, or in the middle, the damage will b...

@Mana v
@agent86 Yes. Paul Greengrass needs to get hit by a truck. First Bourne movie, you could see all the action. The next two, shaky cam all the way. Boo.
@agent86 I just spent an hour stressing over buying her a digital watch, so that gave me a good chuckle.
@Sterno ugh yes. these people are being paid because they're really good at camera work, and then we go WOBBLE WOBBLE all over it. It's like buying a painting from a professional painter and then paying a kid to finger paint over it.
15:53
@agent86 Funny you mention that. My company decided it needed some "art" in the office, so it hired a local artist to paint some. One of them, which looks like crap but we hung anyway because "Art!", he described as making by just having him and his 3 year old daughter "play around, to capture the creativity and innocence of youth"
@Mana Part of me wants to carve the current time into your wrist right now
@GraceNote w-woah
@GraceNote got angst?
It's specifically the "Overactive and wandering imagination part", before you draw any weird conclusions.
@Mana digital watch? That's so 1995
15:54
The same part that has long since begged me to run to school with a piece of toast hanging out of my mouth.
Going for the nostalgia factor?
@badp She likes digital watches, and hers broke
Then buy her a digital watch where the digital screen actually is a piece of paper with your name on it.
It's always Mana'o clock.
Just make sure it's not easy to change that piece of paper with some other piece of paper.
Also the M will be hard to make with a 7 segment display.
@Mana It's a shame. That $150k watch with awesome reviews seems to be out of stock on Amazon
You know what would be easier to write on a 4 digit 7 segment display? 'badp'
although ba:dp isn't really sensical.
I didn't think this through enough when I chose my nick did I
probably been posted, someone who took clips of the bastion narrator and used them to narrate part of skyrim
Now GR:NT would fit better.
4 digits 7 segment compatible etc.
15:58
LO:VE
@OrigamiRobot Those pesky italians!
16:16
@Tristan The last time I posted the context, it got deleted.
@GnomeSlice Well, if the context of your swearing is likely to get deleted, why take the time to type the swears in at all?
Because.
@GnomeSlice This logic is infallible.
You're goddamn right it is.
That doesn't mean it's correct.
16:26
Nope.
16:37
yuuuuup.
WAT
> It’s actually happening. Sure it’s happening in a comic book, but the crossover we’ve always dreamed about will finally be a reality. The Doctor, Amy and Rory will join the crew of the Enterprise-D this May in a comic book published by IDW.
@Mana ?
@GnomeSlice shrug
@GnomeSlice How do you install effects into after effects?
Did you visit the thing I linked you?
@RonanForman Plugins?
16:38
Yeah.
@agent86 Crossovers are always bad.
It's similar to installing brushes in Photoshop.
@GnomeSlice which thing is this?
You have to find the right folder in the AE install files.
@Mana Last ping to you.
I have a .ffx and .polyCE file, where do I put them?
16:39
Oh, no. It has audio and I don't have sound atm.
@RonanForman Erm... I've only done it once...
I'd Google it.
It's not difficult, at any rate.
Which plugin are you installing?
always? what about Scooby Doo and Batman?
@agent86 IDW published a story featuring a robot with the brain of Jules Verne (so a total cyborg technically) riding in a motorcycle sidecar wearing a scarf. A Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover doesn't seem too crazy in comparison.
@StrixVaria this just seems terribly terrible in a terrible way
I keep reading Wip's Arda quote as "I killed Jeff"
@agent86 That's probably more likely to hear from him than "I liked Jeff"
@FallenAngelEyes He did say it though
I just took it out of context
@Wipqozn Aye, I know, I meant the sentiment as properly expressed.
@FallenAngelEyes this is probably why I keep reading it that way.
17:00
1 hour ago, by badp
It's always Mana'o clock.
When I first read that I misread clock as... well, something else...
Cock.
Except he's not a bird.
@GnomeSlice You are the master of subtlety!
Well, I wasn't going to say it, but yes.
You're damn right.
@GnomeSlice Nice save.
17:01
@Wipqozn Oh, please.

Q: Is posting tables of information from commercial strategy guides a legal issue?

bwarnerSeveral answers for recent questions have included large tables of information that were taken from a commercially sold strategy guide. The content is very useful, but I'm a bit worried that we might be opening ourselves up to copyright violations. Is it OK for us to post information from these...

@Lazers Oof, that's... ungood
It's a rough one. Because chances are really good you can find that exact same info (perhaps with slightly different wording) free on some random fan wiki. Which in turn probably came from the strategy guide :P
@FallenAngelEyes yeahhhh
@Sterno I think there's some exemption from copyright when you're dealing with factual data. IANAL, and this is probably pretty gray.
Interestingly, if you read the posts linked, it actually resulted in at least one strategy guide sale!
17:07
I seem to remember people being sued over copying the phone book
and the lawsuit being thrown out on the grounds that it was a tabulation of factual data
but I can't say I support copying from the strategy guide wholesale like that
I know there are clones out of various versions of D&D. They get around the copyright issues because while they often contain the same data, they don't reuse art, exact wording, or table layouts.
copyright law wackiness!
@Sterno Or on GameFAQs forums
I never know in those situations how much we're allowed to hint at. For instance, if I found scans of the strategy guide, I wouldn't link the images, and I'd feel weird linking to the site I found them on, and I'd still feel weird giving the google search terms to find it
if I read the factual data, and re-presented it as coming from an official source, is that okay?
if I lied and said "I did some research and here it is:" is that okay?
These kinds of questions are the main reason I don't want to be a mod.
I guess it kind of goes back to something I've heard people talk about when they speak of copyright violations on music - if I recorded it off the radio, that's fine. if I downloaded it from a rip of the CD, that's wrong. Where's the line between right and wrong? If someone recorded it off the radio and copied it and handed it to me, where does that fall?
17:13
@agent86 Depends on if you gave them money for it or not, usually
Aren't we covered by fair use anyway?
@ArdaXi fair use is another tricky subject...
@agent86 Depends on local jurisdiction. Here, that's fine, so long as you don't show it outside of your house.
If you show it at a school for example, the school has to pay for a licence.

Q: What are Echostones?

mordi2kSo I recently discovered a few Echostones, however when I try to use them I get the message that it doesn't respond to my interaction. So what purpose has the Echostones, and how can I use them?

0
Q: How to improve the bounty success rate?

yx.I've been giving out a few bounties recently on some tough to answer questions, but they've mostly been dismal failures without even generating an answer. The data on all bounties seems to back this up, with roughly 25%1 of all bounties on questions expiring without even having an answer with 2 ...

@agent86 I don't necessarily think that applies here though. This is more like copying an encyclopedia, where a person has put together a compilation of factual data, often with their own interpretation included.
@GraceNote Doesn't GameFAQs also have something about not copying and reposting their content? At least in that case we can link to it though, can't do that for a paper-based strategy guide (that also has a purchase price).
Questions like this are why Joel was so worried about SOPA...
@GraceNote Do you know what the deal is with the blog? That's entirely community run, yet uses the heart logo.
@bwarner From gamefaqs site: GameFAQs does not own the copyright of any of the FAQs or Reviews posted on the site. Each document is owned by its own author, and are all protected by copyright law. For the most part, unless the work explicitly states otherwise, you cannot use work from this site without permission from the original author.
Having written my own FAQ there and read a bunch, the vast majority of the FAQs say something to the effect of "use this however you want, just don't try to make money off it"
Either way, if you do copy something you shouldn't, it's the FAQ author who is going to come after you, not GameFAQs
@Sterno Good to know. So our standard answer is to link to a source, but that doesn't work so well for print media.
I think it'll be a pretty rare FAQ author who says, "Man, I uploaded this thing for free to GameFAQs, but I'm REALLY ANGRY you posted part of it on Gaming.SE". Unless you're cut & pasting it but claiming you came up with it yourself. We write FAQs for our egos! :P
17:39
Hey remember that time I had a million instances of orphaned Foxit processes running?
Hi @AnnaLear
This guy has got some serious talent.
Stuff that shouldn't be on my screen at work
For fuck's sake, it's just a static image.
Better?
I'm not complaining. The irony is that I shouldn't be in a chat room at all while at work :P
17:51
@Sterno I was going to point out that most workplaces that have issues with pics like that also have issues with gaming chat sites.
Alrighty then.
@GnomeSlice I still would leave it as a text link.
Good thing you're not me then, isn't it.
It'll be pushed off screen in a few posts anyway.
Oh niiiice.
I'll refrain from posting that one's thumbnail.
18:09
@RonanForman Hey Ronan.
@AnnaLear Do you know if Laura is around? I need to discuss some things.
@RonanForman Not sure. I pinged her in employee chat for you.

Q: How can I beat Andy Kaufman?

StephenIn Legends of Wrestling 2, if you pick Jerry Lawler, you can face off against Andy Kaufman, in homage to their classic match. It seems that when I wrestle him, no matter how much I pound on him he always gets a big comeback and boost to his health. Is there a trick to pinning Andy Kaufmann?

Q: Are there any partial or complete set bonuses in Kingdoms of Amalur?

StephenIn other games where set items exist (I'm specifically thinking of Diablo II) there are partial or complete set bonuses, additional bonuses that are applied for having and wearing the entire set. Does KoA follow this mechanic and provide an additional bonus for completing a set?

18:28
@Sterno I thought your character in that screenshot had a funny hat. took a few tries for me to see the bow instead.
@bwarner it's a terribly thorny subject, which is why I'm loathe to engage in it. There have been times I knew I could answer a question - I had the correct data, but I was worried about the possible copyright implications of duplicating the factual information involved.
@GnomeSlice Our little GnomeSlice is growing up so fast :D
@agent86 Meh, I wouldn't worry too much. Worst case scenario, SE get a DMCA notice and take your answer down.
@JasonBerkan fortunately chat.stackexchange.com is not flagged as "gaming"
@ArdaXi heh. forgive me if I decide to just not answer in those cases - I'd rather not be the source of any legal drama, I generate enough drama on my own, thanks :P
18:32
@OrigamiRobot I know. At my last job site, I could get to meta and chat, but not the main site.
@agent86 Your call anyway. I'm just saying you don't have to feel like you have to limit yourself.
@ArdaXi I've posted a few panels from some comics on scifi, as have a few askers (including Brett and Abby)
@RonanForman It's hosted internally, though
@GraceNote I see.
Didn't it start entirely unofficial?
@bwarner I didn't mean "Let's copy from GameFAQs", I more meant that GameFAQs has a bit of history of guide copyage on their forums in certain parts.
@RonanForman Before it was themed to resemble the site, possibly, but that would've predated the logo being placed there I imagine
user2334
18:36
@bwarner FWIW, I struggled with that issue when I posted my answer; because I referenced the guide for half the answer, I made it CW to avoid attributing it to me and to allow others to correct the information. Can't believe someone went around pasting tables and quoting me as the justification: just had my answer deleted as I definitely agree with you, at least wrt our collective answers on FF13-2
@GraceNote My point was more, if they 'like the work we've been doing' then why not do the same thing, it's a win-win.
@RonanForman We can't internally host a G+, Facebook, or youTube account
@GraceNote Well SE already has a G+, facebook and youtube account.
Aye, but those are G+, Facebook, and youTube accounts owned by members of the company. They aren't internally hosted.
my two cents: when someone provides an excellent answer that uses a strategy guide as the source, I usually see two or three people saying "I should have bought that". obviously we shouldn't have the whole guide re-published on the site, but answers like: "I saw this in the strategy guide" could be helpful and healthy for both gaming.SE and strategy guide publishers
18:43
@MarkTrapp I tried to edit the comment I left you but the 5 minute mark hit as I hit edit. I went ahead and pinged @Adanion one of their answers in question directing them to the Meta discussion, but we still may want to leave a comment or something on the question you deleted your answer from to lessen immediate confusion.

Q: How do I defeat Raspatil and get the Fair Fighter trophy?

AdanionI got Raspatil to spawn after running in circles for a while in Oerba Village AF400. During the fight I got Raspatil staggered a few times, got it's health down to just over half, and after that I... got completely smashed! To get the trophy I must defeat Raspatil on Normal, easy doesn't count....

The blog is on the stackexchange domain - it represents us on account of indeed being a part of the Stack Exchange ecosystem, the same way chat and meta are.
Wait, I was suspended?
I didn't notice until like 3 mins ago...
What for?
A youTube video you recently linked, it seems
...............................................
18:45
Told you,
user2334
@FallenAngelEyes Good call: I left a comment on the question where my answer was deleted pointing to the meta-discussion
@MarkTrapp Hopefully, they'll take it in good stride! They apparently hand typed all those tables up. :/
user2334
I did the same on my answer :/ I really dislike these fact-recitation questions: very hard to demonstrate you didn't just wholesale lift from someone else's all-rights-reserved guide
user2334
But they're such a honeypot sometimes
user15026
@MarkTrapp Honeypot?
user2334
18:49
@AshleyNunn Something attractive but almost certainly a trap, or at least bad for you
Yeah. I tried to answer question like that regarding Dungeon Defenders, but after spending a half an hour typing up a table, it was very very ugly, and seeing as I was just relaying info from the player run wiki anyway, I directed the asker to the wiki instead. The game's still being actively balanced/patched, so they're likely to find answers directly from the wiki to be updated faster anyway, as I'd just be using wiki answers to update the values.
user15026
@MarkTrapp Ah. That makes sense. :D
@MarkTrapp There's also things people are very curious about and exactly the sort of thing you'd come to a site like Gaming.SE for
user2334
@Sterno I think what Gaming.SE does best is stuff you're stuck on, even after you've read the applicable walkthrough. Stuff that can only be gotten through personally playing the game. But it's hard to ignore or pooh-pooh the number of questions we get that are easily answerable by having the strategy guide
user2334
@FallenAngelEyes With an online wiki, at least you can excerpt it and there's low friction to going off-site. Saying "buy the strategy guide" is a bit of a bigger sell. I suppose finding the exact information relayed in the guide somewhere else online is an option though (even though chances are, they copied the guide themselves)
18:55
@MarkTrapp Aye, that's true and aaahhh ping attack
user2334
Sorry! The typos, they plagued me
how are these questions any different from: "What are the names of the bandit camps in skyrim?" ? It doesn't seem to be a question centered around a problem.
@ronan saw that you were looking for me. I am running around to conference events for the rest of NYC afternoon. you can email me if you need responses today, or I can find some time tomorrow to have a conversation in here.
@Laura Tomorrow's fine, there's no real rush.
