Every initial conversation I've had with a recruiter talks about my skills, what I'm interested in doing, what my salary goals are, and meeting the recruiter(s) in-person as soon as possible.

Then they'll try to get you in front of as many positions as possible that line up with what you've stated.

I actually enjoyed the process quite a bit. The only work I had to do was making sure I was well prepared for phone screens, in-person interviews, and programming demos.

For me, that essentially meant brushing up on technical jargon and definitions that I don't really use too often during day-to-day work.
