The number one complaint we get about the fact we don't have platform tags is "I'd love to be able to subscribe to them! Or more importantly, ignore the platforms I don't own!"
Yes. It's the same argument we have for genre tags as well, as restated in a recent Meta inquiry.
@GnomeSlice It's not why we don't use them. It's explaining that subscribability and utility is the same for flash and for others. Flash just happens to be easier to answer, but the other tags help funnel users to the questions they're happy to see a lot easier than, say, having to ignore each and every individual game that isn't on a platform you play.
@Ullallulloo It's not just for ignorance, just most people pay attention to it. However, subscription to platforms you do own is a great way to get a condensed view of questions you're possibly likely to answer, without needing the foresight to assume which new games would be asked.
@Ullallulloo Avoiding inconsistency is why we do blanket policies. There aren't a lot of multi-platform PC-98 games, which I'd also see to have very low likelihood of having multiple questions per game, but it doesn't earn the tag just for that.
You see the utility in a Flash tag subscription because it's free and you can just pop online. Meanwhile, a user who has a healthy library of a certain platform would likewise subscribe to that platform, knowing that if questions are asked about that platform even if it's for a game that we don't yet cover, she stands a good chance of being able to answer.
Ultimately, the actual reasons we don't use platform tags are purely mechanical. Starting with the fact that in actuality, platform and genre tags are actually horrible subtypes of meta tags that are redundant with the actual game name

Now, I've talked to him but the door window just closes afterwards without progressing the quest.
I think I have done something wrong, what do I need to do exactly to progress in the quest?
We would immensely benefit from the ability to filter and subscribe by platform. However, tags are designed to indicate information for users to identify the problem contained in the question - platform and genre tags, in being nothing but a descriptive attribute of the game in question, consequently tell you nothing about the problem that isn't already inherent by said game in question.
@GraceNote If I was to search for an answer to a console game I'd just search with the game name, but flash games I'd usually include the word 'flash' too though.
@GraceNote The main problems that I see with other platforms is that games are usually on multiple platforms, no one will be interested in all of them, and it clutters up the tags for everyone that doesn't use the tag to filter; but I don't really see those applying to flash much. Most flash games are just flash games(some are ported to iOS), quite a few people would be interested in all(currently 5 marked it and 'interesting'), and I see putting flash in the title helping our SEO, and...

In my travels around Skyrim, I've noticed some buildings have symbols by doors. The one I'm thinking of is a diamond with a circle in it, I think it was on the door to the thieves guild, but I'm sure I've seen others.
Is there a list of what each symbol means?
