I have my Playstation TV attached to a switchable power strip to save in standby power (TV etc. is connected there too). Every time I switch on the PSTV, it asks me for a time and date.
Does somebody know how to fix this? Does the PSTV have an internal (real time) clock at all?
Reminds me a little of the Jehovah's Witnesses who set up at my train station it feels like 2-3 times a week in the mornings. Except they don't want to just ruin your bank account, they want to strip any and all joy out of the remainder of your life.

@James Somebody has to make design decisions. And if you have multiple people working on it together, the additional perspectives can avoid tunnel vision

But Android comes across as someone who got sick of arguing with everyone as to how things are to be done, just built a simple messaging system for modules to talk to each other.. threw up their hands and walked away
And there are plenty of other systems out there people develop for that have their own issues... I am just bitter about all the effort I had to go into making things that should have been simple that were not.
@murgatroid99 I actually think it's pretty neat. Screen transitions are done with "intents". "Explicit" intents say "load this specific screen". "Implicit" intents say things like "share this", and then the OS will either figure out or ask the user what screen is appropiate for the "share" action. You can build your app to handle specific kinds of implicit intents.
@StrixVaria Yeah this is basically a command line API wrapped up in an object.. Send your intent with referred to data and it will find the registered app to handle it or pop up selection choices and such if there is no default
We used this to embed all of our apps into a 'single' app
Streaming client, Control Editor, Debug clients and the such, etc.
But even that API is then very poor for passing information back and forth. Instead of attaching a little blob of data you had to put it into a file, get file share access to work properly by making all your 'apps' use the same permission information and overall weaking the entire security simply to say 'Hey yeah, that app over there can use my files, its fine'
