I do want to smack the author for the masteries suggestion, since it recommends some 4+ Offensive but says you should never take the masteries that allow more than 1 point (which means you will be incapable of getting the 4+ ones)

@FallenAngelEyes Yah, the entitlement thing at the end does make sense. I feel like I need to go back and donate some more money to the developers of SpaceChem now that I realize how awesome it is.

Games are still ludicrously good value in terms of dollars per hour spent, at least the kind of games I like to play (which are typically 40+ hours)

I think its a little unfair though that he takes the worst of gaming (at least in terms of storytelling) and compares it to the best of film. There are some games that I think do stand up to films. They aren't all hugely popular, but neither are the "best" films.

The film industry doesn't create a Gone with the Wind once a month, so we shouldn't expect that the game industry would either. If we get one superb game per year, we're probably about on par.

So, last night, after I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my TF2 extension, I went back and played Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction. I think I've found all the Gold Bolts I'd missed in earlier stages except one I can't yet get

Too bad they kept the "lets have a billion skill points" thing from Deadlocked, instead of the 30 they had in games before that.

@FallenAngelEyes You should play the earlier games too, sometime.

The first Ratchet & Clank game might require some adjustment to play, though, as they did a lot things differently (like health and weapon levels)

I think Insomniac Games did a lot better with the same game engine in R&C than Naughty Dog did in J&D.

@FallenAngelEyes Anyway, in earlier R&C games, you have to collect Gold Bolts/Platinum Bolts to upgrade your weapons, rather than just being able to collect Raritanium to do it.

R&C 2 introduced weapon levels, although they only had two (until you upgraded the weapons the second time through the game). R&C 3 weapons were upgradeable to level 5, or 8 your second time through the game.

I have a US-based PSN account while Jochem has an EU-based one, which means, as far as I know, if I download the Uncharted 2 DLC, he won't be able to play it. :(

R&C 1 had... 3 life points, but you could buy upgrades to 5 or 8. Then again, you pretty much only took one damage from anything in the game.
