I admit to being a noob when it comes to LAN parties, but doesn't the host usually have internet (and thus everyone else does as well)?

@bwarner - my problem with "always on" DRM is that a) my wireless network has spotty coverage, and it is more often than not that I get disconnected randomly. And I don't want to get kicked out of the game every time that happens.

and b) when the game gets cracked, the DRM becomes irrelevant to those that cracked it, meaning that only those who paid for it now have to suffer the irritating DRM.

Do Steam games kick you out if you lose internet in the middle of playing? Obviously Battle.net would, but who is going to spend all the time playing Diablo 3 on their local machine rather than on Battle.net anyways?

Q: In Gurk II, how do I get into the castle crypt?

I've got the quest, but I still can't get through the crypt door. All the other quests I've had are complete, and bar the places I can't go yet physically (the crater, the volcano, and past the lava flow) I've been everywhere. What should I do?

@Powerlord Does it surprise you? That's one of the main reasons I play on the valve servers. So hard to find a non-valve server that isn't loaded with special rules and plug-ins that give admins or paying members an advantage. Either that or they have silly rules in place like instant respawn (which I hate with a passion)v

@ArdaXi I can't recall the last time I actually used "etc" in place of "et cetera". Someone actually modified my post way back, and replaced et cetera with etc, but I rolled and back and made a comment to "leave my et ceteras alone"

As a general rule, I hate mods that "tweak" gameplay. Particularly if they offer rewards to donators or admins.

Now, an entirely new game mode is different. Prop Hunt, for instance. :)

Then again, prop hunt uses its own maps (starting with ph_)

@Powerlord As do I; they are normally made by people that are just terrible at the game.

I'm not a great player by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm not going to make these silly mods to compensate for that. I'd rather, you know, improve my game.

Q: How do I launch a game for windows that I installed?

I managed to install a game for Windows using Wine (I think), but it doesn't show in the Applications/Games folder or in the Ubuntu Software Center. Did it really install? How do I find it? When I was running the Setup, I believe the game installed in the C:\Games\Freespace directory.

Q: In the quest 'Berangar's Secrets' I'm being told to go see Coleman

However, he is dead and his corpse has vanished, so there's no info there. Have I completely broken the quest somehow, making it incompletable? The wiki says this only happens if I talk to him before Kalkstein, but I never talked to Coleman ever.

This is brill. I looked at my TF2 Voting plugin. I didn't finish my testing of it, I can tell. I also never looked over the code apparently or I would have noticed that the VoteCast function doesn't record the vote that was cast anywhere

I knew I had the variables for storing votes in the wrong spot, but I should have caught it when writing that method.
