I have seen an item in-game several times but thought nothing of it. The item was meant to automatically lay block. Another was used to lay background. I cannot seem to find them now that I want to see what they do.
What do they do, and how do I obtain them. Does anyone know what they were named?
@arp, the dude holding the basketball is Dikembe Motumbo, a former NBA player famous for blocking shots and then taunting people with a wag of the finger. In this case, he totally Lucy and Charlie browned the Denver nuggets mascot during a fun pregame ceremony, and by the looks on the faces of people in the gif, was not expected to do that and followed it up with his awesome finger wag.
Did I mention that people changing their avatars are literally worse than Hitler? Because I kinda forgot mentioning that back when I said people who change their names are literally worse than Hitler.
DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TIME I NEED TO WASTE NOW? I NEED TO READ YOUR NAME EVERYTIME TO SEE WHO POSTED IT (Also, don't undermine my rant while I'm busy typing really slowly)
I used to play games when I was younger but I stopped for a few years. Now I'm getting back into it, at the age of 19. I wanted to ask what good games there are that aren't too hard for beginners that I could complete after Halo 4, GTA V, and AC3?
I've been playing those games for a while and do...
@FEichinger don't watch him. I watch Scott Manley (of course), Zisteau, Kurtjmac, and Danny2462, and I know of a few others like HOC, Streetlamp, and SolarGamer
> "This prototype is by no means final, and we'll continue to work on this to improve, but we believe this is a good representation of how PlayStation will deliver VR."
Hopefully they're being very picky about immersion. FPS and such tops graphical fancies for VR. Kinda hope they'll force devs to target a certain, high, FPS
If Sony thinks it can work I trust them, they've been pretty good about keeping things under wraps until they're ready lately, media playback features aside
> Anton says one feature of the dev kit is a processing unit inside that can mirror the image onto a normal screen, so others can join in without needing their own headset.
@ben every Oculus demo I've seen on YouTube does that
It's more likely that games render without worry of aberration compensation and that specific transformation happens only either on your head or anyway only just before hitting the wire
> Sony has some interesting ideas for asymmetric gameplay with the Morpheus, such that one player can have the headset and be the hero, and then when another player beats them, with a totally different control scheme, they get to take over.
@badp oh, yeah, that'll probably be for less-graphics intensive games. Still, sweet idea. You could have asymmetric gameplay 10x more immersive than the Gamepad and even triple rendered it probably still looks better than the poor Wii U can do...
So, Sony is likely to have better panels and controllers. Oculus has an important advantage in terms of content right out of the gate, for what good that does then, and it'll generally run on higher end computers.
As for who's hitting the market first, that's anybody's guess
@ben the indie scene has had nothing but the Oculus to target so far. If we are talking stuff done just for VR, Oculus is likely to be ahead here and now
They're both super new tools. Hopefully they get a standard framework of some sort between them, or at least Unity and UE4 add some sort of layer to make the transition easy
@MichaelFrank Everything. The head mounted TV is just a display that's really close to your eyes. It has no tracking, no low-persistence, no games designed specifically for it
head tracking and immersion (FOV, high FPS, low latency) are the major things that make VR instead of a TV in your face
So I'm running a Minecraft FTB (TPPI) server for me and some friends, and I want to lock NEI to utility mode. I found the config option:
#For those who can't help themselves.
#Set this to a mode and you will be unable to change it ingame
lockmode=-1
profileRecipes=false
utilities=delete, magnet
