I want to make a usable chat search and in order to do this I want to gather the chat messages from SO.
AFAIK chat is not in the data dump nor is it available through the API. So I want to crawl the chat transcripts for messages.
As a test I will start with the transcript of room 11 by starting...
I'm bored of the wake of drama that follows me everywhere, it's got to the point where I can't even ask an honest question on meta without people assuming that I'm trolling and I've had enough.
but they fucked up with branding and got a really teensy tiny amount of votes
they didn't show up with the flag logo etc. and I still don't know if it was the real thing or one of those useless novelty parties that pop up shortly before an election and die immediately after
For a moment there, I thought Amazon bought Double Fine ... but it's just Double Helix. Damn you, brain. Wait for me to finish reading before jumping to conclusions!
Burn honey, burn, let the fire eat away I never liked the look of this town Burn it down now I'll run, they all know what I've done I fetch my gear and take my leave from this mountain
In computing, symbolic programming is computer programming in which the program can manipulate formulas and program components as data.
Through symbolic programming, complex processes can be developed that build other more intricate processes by combining smaller units of logic or functionality. Programs can thus effectively modify themselves, and appear to "learn", making them suited for applications such as artificial intelligence, expert systems, natural language processing and computer games.
Languages that support the symbolic programming paradigm include LISP and Prolog.

@Michel It's very ... unconventional. But it's quick to learn the basics and allows you to easily change its own rules on the fly, which - when you grok what it does - certainly widens your horizons in terms of how you approach certain problems.
@Wipqozn Speaking as someone who's great-grandfather (the guy in my avatar) married a 24-year old women when he was 50 (and managed to have a child, too), I'm not inclined to agree ...
When a neighbor visits your Springfield and taps on your houses, the neighbor will earn $16 and 2XP per house.
The immediate effect you can observe is that you will see the interlocked hands symbol over your house and when you tap it, you'll see the name of the neighbor appear.
But what other, ...
Oh, my. The Beautiful Fails thread is awesome. I especially like the developer's bug descriptions, like ... "Accidentally made it possible to play as a rock." or "Accidentally added gravity to my light simulation." :D
I bought Morrowind GOTY via GameStop, and then downloaded it via the GameStop App (more information). However I would like to backup my game just in case something happens to GameStop, or if I am unable to access it in the future for whatever reason.
If I can, how would I do this?
Where can I find an older version of Mine craft with the bin folder still in tack(mind you, I have little to no money, so it must be free. also, if you suggest anything, actually test it before.)
I really just want to add SEUS SHADERS and a minimap and optifine, because the 1.7.2 mcpatcher is ...
As you probably know, some in-game events are unlocked if you go to a specific place while having a specific Pokémon on you or in the first party slot. What I want is a complete list of those events.
I'm mainly interested in events unlocking other Pokémon (such as the Sinjoh ruins event) and less...
I believe this question is too broad when you have it covering multiple generations, especially when you consider that each generation tends to have multiple sets of games in it. I'd suggest asking a separate question for each generation to narrow your scope. — Wipqozn8 secs ago
In capture the hammer - mode I am having trouble dodging the hammer.
Moving sideways does not seem to work because the hammercarrier instantly adjusts automatically when he attacks.
Aside from keeping a distance is there a proper method in close combat?
Stack Exchange isn't GameFAQs.
What do I mean by that? I mean that what we do well isn't Big Lists of Stuff. As a general rule of thumb, if I know the scope of the answer set, my 'I know it when I see it' guideline for a question that's too broad is, "Would I be willing to take the time to compo...
I don't know that this question is or isn't too broad. But if the preliminary list as written in the question is indicative of the overall scope, I'd assume it's not.
I have just started to play Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition and I picked the warrior class, and due to the difficulty I want to focus on some stats to ease the difficulty curve.
What stats do you suggest I should focus?
@Wipqozn Actually, in my experience, it's a pretty poor one. Again, one of the things we are best at is organizing information in a manner that's orthogonal to the prevailing system of the internet for organizing that information.
i.e. organizing information across games that are linked like this, when sufficiently narrowly scoped (and again, I don't know enough about Pokemon to say whether it is or isn't, but if the preliminary list in the question represents a plurality, I'd argue it probably is.) is something that we are very well suited to.
I'm trying to drum up support for a Stack Exchange Ethics Review Board; however its not going well. I tried to point out that a certain amount of knowledge is dangerous. Are there moderators who are actively looking for ice nine and other unethical research questions the knowledge of which could ...
Proposed Q&A site for people who have an interest in Weapons. This will include a somewhat broader category then the old Firearms proposal had, as well as a larger SE audience.
@kalina But yeah, dupes pointing to years old unanswered feature requests on MSO is so much the norm it's not even funny. This is a part of why I don't have 3k MSO rep. (Because bounties on those old unanswered feature requests is the only shot in hell you have of getting them an ounce of attention.)
I played my main character now to level 40 and I wanted to try out some other character, to have a different experience for a while. Now I discovered that I would need to redo my whole Keybindings and that would take some significant amount of time, since I have a very specific setup when I play ...
@LessPop_MoreFizz oh yeah I get that, but it wasn't a dupe - the "old" question was "can we block all caps question bodies" which could easily cause problems on certain sites due to posting error logs and whatever - mine is focused purely on titles, which is something that happens many many times per day across the entire network
@LessPop_MoreFizz That one was cross-posted on three per-site metas, and there's a Philosphy post as well now that is mostly complaining that we mods on those three sites are so uneducated and don't understand the reference to ice nine

@Wipqozn I'm not going to be a jerk with my newfound diamond and all, but in light of an answer being posted that attests to completeness, I'm going to encourage you to reconsider your close vote.
After having a conversation with LessPop in chat, in addition to the answer showing the scope, I've decided to reconsider my close vote and have thus voted to re-open. I was under the impression that there were 5-6 of these events per game, but it appears I was just remembering incorrectly. — Wipqozn16 secs ago
I'm currently building a team for competitive use. I want to use the ingame matchmaking of the Pokémon XY games (Battle Zone).
I know Pokémons can be banned for reasons, therefore I didn't build a legendary into my team. But in unranked games (never tried ranked before) I often see them. As it's...
