@Weston.h buy hotdogs, sell them to people who like them, tadah
So the question makes either no sense, or is spam.
user15026
@MartinSojka It has nothing to do with the game, trust me, I have played it extensively

Make sure to include mayonnaise or whatever that stuff is if I want to sell them to the Dutch. All the fixing for Chicago, make sure to have some tofu ones in California. It really is all about audience. You're right.
If you're in Germany: Take a half year course in economics and relevant laws, acquire three different certification (food processing, hygiene and privacy policy), and pay your local Turkish or Russian Mafia branch some "insurance money" on top of that to remain in business.

@MartinSojka or you know, just make yourself a hotdog, enjoy it, and fuck the rest.... :D

@MartinSojka There's also the small matter of actually licensing the cart if I remember correctly.
I have a PC running Windows 7. I installed and play Age of Mythology and its expansion, the Titans. Since the computer I have is much, much more advanced than even the maximum supported graphics settings in AoM, and I often multitask, I want to run it in windowed mode.

Where should I be looking?
OK, so here's a tricky question for someone with any knowledge in this department.

Since this question doesn't talk about trade will will void this.

@Arperum When I saw it first, it had only that comment and an upvote. It took me three times to even reasonably understand what that answer is supposed to tell me.
I figured "the usual" and downvoted it because I felt it was very convoluted - I don't own the game so I have no idea if it's valid. Now I see the subsequent "It's wrong, dude." comments and I'm like ...

@FEichinger The good thing is that he won't get this bounty, get at least 6 more upvotes without extra downvotes will take more then available for him.
@shanodin That's how it should work. However, in practice, some of this site's users don't really follow that guideline, especially people who love downvoting. Some downvote due to hating a certain category of questions, like all lore questions, and some downvote due to comments of a user unrelated to the question at hand. E.g. gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/128463/… If other downvoters do that (and it is indeed not against site policy to do so), then One-One is free to (up/down)vote this question for any reason he deems valid too. — galacticninja2 days ago
For what it's worth, I agree on a few points there (such as that downvoting based on category is stupid). But the general sentiment and his "Oh my god, you're all so evil and we have to fight it!" attitude is just crap, period.
I have barrels hooked up to my AE network using AE Storage Buses. I'm just saying that he does have a point, somewhere in that mess of pointless arguing. It's not a point that should matter anywhere, but it's a valid point no less.
I have never understood, and it is unlikely I will understand, the stance where a lore question has to change the way you play a game to be a good lore question
In Diablo 3 our hero will state that a certain person is Belial.
How does the hero know?
It's the plot question rather than the game itself.
Also, if possible, I'd like the "official" reason.
For example, the idea that Belial can teleport is a speculation, not official reason why we know th...
@badp You know as well as I do that just about anything gets through that rule by asking "Is $STUPID PLOT HOLE ever addressed?"; the primary purpose of the nothing from outside the game rule is that it keeps us away from dumb questions about usually dumb tie-in novels.
It doesn't usually help at all with truly dumb lore questions.
@LessPop_MoreFizz actually I'm pretty sure I supported the dumb tie-in novels; it should not support the "is plot hole addressed"
I don't usually look at question open/close matters because I tend to disagree with a large portion of the community and it's better for everybody involved if I let somebody more in sync with the community on the matter keep an eye on it
@Sterno well, don't we apply kind of the same reasoning to unreleased content stuff? There is no answer about those, so we close them. If there would be an answer it'd necessarily speculate on unreleased content and thus we close the question. This is so we prevent the question from getting answers. And that's the whole point of closing.
@badp "Answerability" is a terrible metric for question cromulence, and ought never be employed. This is why I'm fond of just outright closing any question about unreleased content, because it sidesteps the "Is this answerable" nonsense.
@FEichinger That's my point. It requires knowing the answer ot know if it's actually "poke the plot hole". Though to be fair, you can still play "poke the plot hole" and get answers that are more justifications than actual explanations.
@badp Well, the end result then is you can't just have a meta policy that says "We close these", because you're going to get all the people with close votes arguing about whether or not the question actually has an answer.
Well, explanation could be, "Can you help me understand why this happened" where inconsistency might be "If he had that giant rocket launcher, why didn't he blow up the bad guy 10 minutes in"
although, I'm not on that site, so I can't be sure

Also, there seems to be somebody systematically downvoting all my questions. Never more than one or two a day, but it's still happening.
They're roughly halfway through. It'll be interesting whether or not they're willing to take the rep hit for answers once they finish with my questions.

@fbueckert Must be someone with low rep. Anyone else would realize the 100-200 rep tops it'll end up costing you in the long run is completely meaningless.
You need to instead relish this. You clearly annoyed someone enough that they stayed mad over multiple days and will let this affect their life enough to make downvoting one or two of your questions a day part of their daily routine.
So your annoyance at the downvotes is nothing compared to what they're feeling.
Bounty upper limit of 50k because 500 seems outdated and cheap. If newbie gets a good answer in more power to them.
Edit.
Think of it like Jeopardy. Remember about the turn of the century when the rules changed and you could win longer than one week. It was a good change. All time Jeopardy ...
@fbueckert This is my favorite part: 500 I'm asking for 3000 on one question right now. I have the answer working and won't share it till I get 3k for it. Don't think me bad I'm still participating its just on one question that the community and blogs can't answer yet.

Even if the count is not so much to make a definitive analysis at the moment, at the very least we can keep an eye on the situation to see if it persists.
@GraceNote I'm not the one suffering from this (... at least as far as I am aware), but if I were, my question would be: Don't you guys have better things to do? :)
@MartinSojka My job is a very large number of tasks all centered around fostering a happy community. Investigating ill situations is as much a part of the job as lecturing folk and writing giant meta posts and working on our newsletter.
Take replacement cable to desk - the non-desktop side of the existing network cable was sitting outside of its slot - literally one centimeter away from the number I'd read two minutes earlier
@GraceNote Oh I was joking about the meta post. I do think it is just vindictive downvoting as it came after I downvoted a lore question and most of the downvotes are on posts over a year old.
@3ventic ... and then you realise almost every single ball in the lower two-thirds is a nuclear explosion. One which is still going on and will be doing so, in some cases, for billions of years.
In State of Decay, how do I find out how many mission I have completed with a selected survivor?

In Hill Climb Racing we have several vehicles and several stages.
Different vehicles have different performances on the same stage, and I'd like to know what are the best combinations to maximize distance in each stage.
Also, what is the best combination vehicle-stage to farm coins?
In simpler terms, the more information we are given, the more we can work with. Hey, it's kinda like how it's better when questions have as much data as possible.
@BenBrocka That is true, he should either change platform or change the play style, but considering this is an exercise in making SMB3, he can't do the latter.
@GraceNote I know, I just didn't know how much information you already had access to. Like I'm pretty sure I don't need to give links to the downvoted posts. They're all on the same day and are the only activity for said day.
@RonanForman Yeah, but SMB3, even as a relatively easy platformer, would be very annoying to control without major "reworking", which would almost certainly mean dumbing it down (or making it a completely 100% different game)
you need precise controls for a game like SMB3. Touch controls are far too easy to touch too early or too long (or worse, in the wrong place) and generally increase reaction time (since you can't leave your finger literally on the button)
So at best it's like playing SMB 3 while highly intoxicated. Though in reality I could probably play SMB 3 drunk on NES and have a better time controlling than sober on touch controls
@BenBrocka Right now I'm trying to think of what would be the most frustratingly high-reaction platformer that I could suggest porting to touch controls.
But then I remember that, in some odd turn of events, they ported Dodonpachi of all things to iOS and I still don't know how it is that people actually have a positive opinion of it.
@RonanForman You can try 'em out on an emulator, granted emulator virtual controls aren't quite as good as manually rejiggered touch controls....but manually fixed controls are only slightly better
@fbueckert See the line immediately following, though to be fair I imagine that most folk would use a stylus for that (but that said, that'll still obscure a thin line and that's all you need obscured to die in a game like Dodonpachi).
@GraceNote Bullet hell shooters work surprisingly well on touch actually, because all you really need to do is move and sometimes tap to bomb (and in most cases, autoshoot)
Most shmups on mobile use "relative touch", so you press your finger anywhere and your ship follows the movements of your finger, not the finger itself
As long as the game is primarily movement based rather than precise button pressing based it works far far better than most genres do on touch
@GraceNote as far as platformers, pretty much anything that isn't a one button "hold to run" or "tap to jump" it doesn't work for shit. Stuff like Jetpack Joyride works well, but it's not really a "platformer" per say
@fbueckert It's one of Cave's more commonly known curtain fire shmups, generally involving very weird timelines and the eventual not-actually-eponymous angry bee boss at some end point who will flood the screen with bullets.
@GraceNote It feels a lot better than mouse control IMO, you get a really good feeling of how much you need to move. However it'd be a nightmare on iphone or whatever because of the dinky touch surface
@BenBrocka One thing I do know is that the iOS port does actually allow you to unlock Hibachi (the aforementioned angry bee) so at that point you get to flood the screen with bullets yourself so...
But it's "super powered" characters are actually pretty specialized and require more skill than you'd think (and they are crazy expensive so you can only buy a few)
Flash game sites would regularly (and probably still do) pay developers a small sum of money (a few $K) for them to develop flash games that would only be released on their site, or have exclusive content on their site, so you would use their site to play that game because Newgrounds or Kongregate wouldn't have it
Armor Games does it a lot, many of their games have extra content on armorgames.com or only exist there (legitmately, anyway)
And it's a much more sensible approach than Ouya's, which is basically "make a kickstarter promising to be ouya exclusive, AND reach your goal, THEN we'll give you money. Later."
Which is basically "perform a miracle that clearly proves you have no actual need of Ouya funding, then we'll give you Ouya funding. Also neuter your sales potential massively. Thx"
They seem to think they are legitimately in competition with major consoles and thus exclusive to Ouya is no more debilitating than exclusive to Xbox/PS
> "If Ouya wants to be truly indie-friendly it needs to allow indie developers to spread their wings if they find success on the platform," he wrote. "Exclusivity should not be part of that, especially not for a console that is unlikely to be able to support a developer on its own. Ouya should be the console you also release your games on."
@fbueckert Depends on your contract, but generally they ask for timed exclusivity at the least, something like 6 months I though
> "Only allowing console-published developers to release a game on Xbox means that indies are basically forced to go through either Microsoft Game Studios or — ironically — PlayStation to be able to launch on the platform."
@BenBrocka I mean, you, as the developer, can only develop for the Ouya, but wasn't the whole point of Ouya to provide a single open platform? If it works for it, it should work for basically any and every Android device.
@fbueckert Yeah, but you'd have to find some way to grab the APK and sideload it onto an android device. And even then it might depend on some Ouya framework or something; not sure if their physical controller uses standard Android or a framework of some sort
Never bothered looking into the details of making an ouya game
At it's pre-retail release the excitement among devs was it was so easy to port to Ouya. I think that's where the focus should be
@badp Well, it's not a sentence ... Anyway, "Jahresarbeitslohn" means "yearly salary" or "salary for one year". "Salary for this year" would be "diesjähriger Arbeitslohn" or more likely explicit "Arbeitslohn für den Zeitraum von 1. Januar 2013 bis 31. Dezember 2013 einschließlich."
@MartinSojka The context is the "Antrag auf Erteilung einer Bescheinigung für das Kalenderjahr 2013 für beschränkt einkommensteuerpflichtige Arbeitnehmer"
