What I heard is that they put the token in Wrath of the Litch King Classic servers, fucking up the economy

making a lot of people mad

and well, the people still hooked on WoW are basically the die hards of the die hards

There's a very vocal crowd that's upset about the token, but there seemed to be just as many people going "Yeah, this had to happen to combat gold selling"

i'll be honest, i'm not nearly so bothered by real money <-> in-game currency mechanics so long as they go both ways

i don't have the time these days to spend playing the auction house or farming materials to make gold

at least not if i want to play other games too

and since wow tokens can be used as a subscription substitute to "buy" gametime, i'm okay with people investing their time to essentially play without having to pay for a subscription
