Yeah, there's a false negative rate. Not every question that deserves to be closed accumulates the required number of close votes.

Yes, I am. I feel that these questions managing to slip through the cracks like that is a big deal.

For a question not to get closed, either no one has to bother to flag/vote it for closure, or it has to achieve three leave open reviews in the close votes review queue. There's no "questions should be closed but don't attract enough attention to get all 5 close votes" endgame here; the close votes review queue ensures that that doesn't happen.

My point is that there are over 86,000 questions on this site. If you go looking for individual process errors, you're going to find them. I think it's worth distinguishing between "this process needs to change" and "nothing is 100% perfect". Because that affects what can actually be done about it

Sure, it turns out that most of the community looks at recent active stuff, and not questions from several years ago

And on just about any site, if a rule is X years old, most questions from >X years ago that break that rule will stay open

the start of the video does rub the the wrong way though. almost as if they are trying to say that this happened because Fortnite is violent which would not surpise me. the Nine Network's Today show did bring out a "concerned parent" who complained how violent Call of Duty was to her 10 year old.....which in Australia i'm quite sure they are all rated M15+

@pppery It's worth keeping in mind that minecraft probably has the highest number of of low quality questions on the site, just due to its sheer volume and that a LOT of minecraft questions are asked by new and very young users. That's not to say you're wrong, but you're definitely getting a skewed perception due to the tag you're browsing.

Same way that if you create a synonym that effectively deletes a tag, none of the tagged questions get new revisions

I think the revision stores a reference to the tag, not its text. So if the tag gets deleted, the revision just has an invalid reference that gets cleaned up

As I said before, there are simply too many questions to expect absolutely 0 failures. A few mistagged questions out of tens of thousands is not a sign of bad community moderation or whatever; stuff just falls through the cracks every once in a while

And it simply didn't matter as much if old questions meet our standards as consistently because they're mostly not getting new views and they're not what people see when they look at the front page

@forest no they are legit keys (in the sense they are valid and brought), but G2A is know for credit card fraud where "sellers" steal credit cards, buy alot of keys, sell them on G2A for a huge markdown and then when the owner of the card does a charge back to their their stolen money it's the dev who looses money

it's not so much the key reselling that people have issues with because if those keys were brought with a non-stolen card then the dev still got their money and gamers are getting the game much cheaper

@Memor-X Also, generally speaking developers revoke any keys that have had their payment charged back, so the gamer who bought and redeemed the key suddenly loses access to their game

So in the end, the only people who gain money in this is the fraudulent reseller, who spent no money of their own and got the money for the sales, and G2A, who gets their normal transaction share

I like the idea of a shared pool that doubles as a comeback mechanic, but the execution is bad.

Also, loot RNG is ouch.

I like the Underlords version where a loot round guarantees one loot but there's not as much interaction between players in that game.

Q: Dwarf Fortress: Is it possible to create a craft with specific bones, like the bones of a forgotten beast?

My dwarves have just defeated a were chinchilla, and its corpse is left outside the front of my fortress. I want to carve its defeated skeleton into crafts for my dwarves, is there any way to request its bones to be used in the creation of crafts? If not, would crafting tons of crafts from bone...

Ok Bridge, up your potato game thus:

heat oil, add .5 tsp cumin seeds and .5 tsp cracked black pepper
after 1m, add 400g diced new potatoes
fry for 10-12 minutes, until browning
add 1tsp grated ginger, 1 finely chopped chilli
fry for another 5 minutes
add 50g ground up raw peanutes (unroasted, unsalted) and some chopped up fresh coriander and serve

Unrelatedly, I'm still in awe at wind waker SD barrier skip

they found a new trick that lets you fire infinite arrows, and using that, you keep firing inside hyrule castle until the game starts freeing up memory to hold all the arrows, despawning the barrier

and somehow not just crashing the game

Q: (Minecraft) Can you add attributes to name/enchanted armor?

Previously I asked if I could apply things like Speed II on the player when you wear a full suit of leather armor. Somebody gave me a response, but it didn't work. I am wondering, could this be because the armor is named and enchanted? If so, than what can I do about this?
