@TheGreatDuck Most of the time questions are closed just because they need additional details or retooling -- they may be poor now but the reason why they're closed and not just deleted is because they can be improved
it's annoying that people cannot be patient. The people who figure out that stuff just got to playing it yesterday from what I saw online. If they were just patient, they;d have their answer.

@quartata On the one hand, I'd say it's definitely worth it (it has been for me). On the other hand, it might be a good idea to wait either for the holiday season or until a few games that you want have come out.
@murgatroid99 here's the problem though. Asking about storyline in the game is fine because it can actually be found in the game. We can only answer a question about date if and only if the date is actually given in the game.
we don't know if the question has one true answer. It might be that one can wage three equally viable arguments and therefore the question is deemed closable as "opinion based"
@quartata I think it has to be WiiU to get the best deal. For a 3DS you'd just get double credits towards the Switch and that might not be as lucrative
@Yuuki it does in the context of a site demanding actual answers. Math might allow that in terms of unsolved problems.... but they still have a solution.

If anything, every Nintendo launch has been better than the N64 launch.
I'm looking through historical launch titles and, honestly, none of them really stand out for me other than Halo. Yeah, you have big names every now and then on Playstation and Xbox but those are always largely by-the-numbers sequels to long franchises (Halo on the Xbox being the one exception I've seen).

@Chippies I'm pissed about the Wii U too, but I seriously don't get this sentiment that Nintendo should close up shop and just sell games as third-party to Microsoft and Sony. I'm not saying that's your sentiment, but I'm seeing that in a lot of places now.

Actually IIRC the N64 and Gamecube controllers are backwards compatible, just different size plugs. I should try one of my N64 controllers with my adapter...
@Yuuki ah, well, doesn't really bother me in the grand scheme of things tbh, it's just that somehow Nintendo consoles get in my sight more than any others, because my wife is a Nintendo-nerd, so it's the only brand of consoles we actually are interested in owning

once you get used to certain things, it's hard to give them up, while paying extra for doing so
but anyways, I don't think there's much of an argument against the fact that besides Zelda, Switch has a pretty dead line-up right now

I am not opposed to the idea of the Switch, I love my Nintendo handhelds (and yes I will likely be one of those weirdos who uses it almost entirely as a handheld) just so far there aren't games for it I want to play
@Chippies I'm the same (although I do play my 3DS on longer bus rides like the hour and a half to Toronto, but not really in my day to day) - I just like handhelds. I suck at remembering to play console stuff

@Ash I don't have a TV in my PC room and I don't like being away from the PC when gaming :P Our TV is only 39", so with the distance I sit from it, it's not even any better experience than using the handheld screen
