The problem with 13-1 wasn't just that you could barely touch your controller through combat, but out of combat all you really had to do was hold forward and walk down the linear path. It felt like the world's most boring movie rather than a game.

The thing about FF games is that even the older ones tend to be VERY linear but they did a much better job framing it and disguising it than 13-1 does

So with 13-1 it's very, very apparent

It's less about pressing buttons I guess, and more about making choices. There just never seemed to be any meaningful choices to make in 13-1, even 20 hours in, which is when I stopped
