I'm playing pretty slowly and did every sidequest I could access before doing any mainquests.

I have a lot of trouble using spells without hurting myself

I had to pile all the HP-up accessories on Noctis because I'm terrible at defending.

@Yuuki No. Some of the cutscenes from within the game are pulled straight from that movie.

I don't know why, but I automatically press R1 when I need to defend, which is not the defend button.

@StrixVaria I just warp around between enemies like crazy

I'm always hitting the wrong buttons too.

And I just this morning found out I need to hold square, not press square, to dodge

Yeah, attacking/defending are both hold actions.

You just hold circle and attack until you let go.

I can't figure out how to use machinery.

@StrixVaria Yeah, I didn't really want to, but I ended up turning it on once I saw that there are skills that directly interact with it

I was just standing there not doing anything as I held circle, and then the enemy came and wrecked me.

I equipped machinery on Prompto (or maybe it was Ignis) and he just uses it automatically sometimes

I mean when I equipped it onto Noctis.

Was just trying out a bunch of different weapon classes.

One thing that seems really effective is using those HP-stealing weapons only for warp strikes.

Best moment so far was a dropship of level 16 imperial troops all clustered together that got a faceful of potency 160ish fire

Like switch to your weapon with 400 more attack than your other stuff, warp strike, then switch back to a weapon that doesn't kill yourself as you use it.

@StrixVaria That weapon takes a couple hundred HP per swing though. It's insane

Q: Is there a way to see how many covenant items I have turned in?

I'm farming for covenant items in order to get the rank rewards (spells & items). Is there a way to see how many I have turned in already to the covenant vendor/master? So I know how many more I need. I know it is 10 for the first reward and 30 for the next reward, but lost count and neglected...

Q: Command Headache

I have set up a monetary system on my server. I have set up a store to buy and sell item. However, U can only do 1 item at a time. I need to figure out how to sell a specified number or a stack of items at time. Any ideas?

Hopefully my copy is actually here today.

I think my other favorite moment was the first time I went for a drive at night.

The first time I went for a drive at night I encountered a level 30 demon with a giant machete. I warp striked it (I'd just saved), did almost no damage, he smacked me for 70% of my HP and instantly killed Prompto, and then I sprinted away.

I didn't really expect everyone to be like "Let's get out of the car"

I tried to fight one at level 17 and still can barely scratch it

I have a feeling "and instantly killed Prompto" is going to be a common element of FFXV fan memories.

@Sterno Yeah, this was weird. At some point, I tried driving past it instead of engaging, and they were all like "nope, got to get out and deal with this".

I should go back and do those level 15 bounties I've been avoiding. I think I'm close to that level now.

@Sterno I've only cooked one meal all game so far because I've always rested in those trailers for the XP bonus.

At one point I figured out they could change clothes, did that to make them look less douchey, and then had to change it back when I realized the different outfits had different stat bonuses

30 gil for a 20% XP bonus, or 300 for a 50%, or 10000 for a 100%. Seems not to scale.

I especially hate refilling the gas in the car because then you have to watch like 30 seconds of her just standing there holding the gas hose.

Should spend the extra 20 gil to fast travel to that southern area with the other gas thing, refill there, and then fast travel back to wherever you were.

Every single time, I always jump first.

no device checks, no data encryptions, it sends steam guard codes as push notifications AND even marks its notifications as trivial, so it gets through lock screen even when you set it to hide important notifications (which is well, all notifications except those specifically flagged as trivial).
