@badp My idea would be redifinining our nonsensical policy on pre-release questions to a much more sensible standard; questions that are about factors like puchasing, distribution, preorder bonuses, etc. are perfectly acceptable. Truly speculative questions are off topic, as always.

@fbueckert I never once suggested @badp was guilty of any form of mod abuse that did not involve the casual and flagrant editing of chat content and comments in a failed attempt at humor. I have made the argument that @badp acted in error in his use of his moderation powers, and that I feel that he should be responsible for correcting that error. That is not an accusation of abuse. It is an accusation of momentary incompetence, in the midst of an otherwise highly competent tenure.

I see no problem with @badp closing the question unilaterally. It does fit our old policy somewhat, though I think we should clarify the whole subject.
