If you think "pretty much borderlands" is a bad thing you either have terrible tastes in FPSes or you really don't like FPSes (or both)

The main change is that level progression is exponential rather than linear, so especially from level 45+, every ding means you looking forward to replace ALL of your items

Eh, it's not just randomization, it's gotta be deeper than just the number of damage you do or whatever. Even if it's actually superior, a straight 10% DPS boost is no where near as awesome as "Oh my god it's a shotgun that shoots fire and fires like 10 rounds a second"
