@Aarthi it's fairly straightforward - found your second city someplace with a lot of production tiles (hills, forests, etc), then crank axemen and catapults. Conquer neighbors. As the technology improves, bump up your units (axemen -> macemen, catapults->trebuchets, etc)

I can hold Alt to show the items around me, but is there a way to keep this display on at all times? I try to collect everything to sell, use, or disenchant, so it shouldn't be a distraction.
In the original games you could pause single player. In Diablo III, you are always connected and there is no real "single player" mode. Is it still possible to pause the game? I haven't been game (no pun intended) to test it out in anger.

What happens to timed effects, such as the bonus from a shrine or a Monk's mantra, when an in-game cutscene plays (e.g. the cutscene which appears when you first encounter Deckard Cain)?
Does the timer pause while you're in the cutscene? Does it depend on whether other human players are connected?
When you start the game and arrive in Tristram, Brother Malachi the Healer gives you a blessing if you talk to him. There's a little sound effect and a flash of light as he blesses you.
Does it actually do anything? I don't see any obvious effect.
When you play Amsterdam in Sandbox Mode, starting 2010, you get struck by an unemployment rate pretty quick giving you a hard time to earn good money imho.

@fbueckert It's tricky. However, if you hit 'F' to bring up the 'HUD awareness' thing, you can see text by everything about what it's for. So you can see which consoles are which, just by standing in the middle of the area and turning 360.
@Krazer The VTOL and Cobra Mech are so horribly overpowered.
@Aarthi focus your cities - first one is a population center (farms, granary, etc), second is military/production (barracks, mines, production enhancing buildings), third is economic (villages, market, bank)
@agent86 Hahaha. it's still funny 'cause I always move my guy a little bit closer to resources. I should stop that. I always wanted to play one of those maps with lots of islands.
@Aarthi when you expand out, for sure settle near the resources. I like to found my second city near iron, for example. The first one though it doesn't matter so much, you'll generally have time to go scout about and find good locations to hoard for your other cities, and in the early going you need the extra turns with science and culture production.
@GnomeSlice It does this for me as well. When my friend checks my game info it says there are people in the game that aren't. Although they were in there earlier...
@agent86 ah you're totally right. I should basically settle a city, create another explorer, and then first city is farming, second is military, third is economic; first thing produced is always an explorer?
@Aarthi In previous games, it was better to maximize your territory for city placement, so you'd lay them out on a grid as close together as possible. In civ4, you can space things out a bit more to get better quality cities.
@Aarthi I typically ignore explorers in favor of the starting warrior and maybe one or two more in the early going.
@Aarthi yeah, this is how I used to play civ/2/3, and learning these couple of real simple tricks took me from barely finishing science victories to crushing everything in my path by the dark ages
@Aarthi warlords and BTS shouldn't be any more resource-intensive than the base game, tbh. BTS isn't really that exciting, IMHO, but warlords is awesome if you want to kick ass and take names
Because of the rediculous price difference in the Blizzard Store between US and EU (60$ or 60€(76~$), ~27% more), I was considering purchasing Diablo 3 on a false US account as a gift and then send the authentication key to my actual, EU account.

Can I come back to a used shrine later and reuse it? Healing wells seem to recharge after a couple minutes but shrines either take longer or simply never do.
How many different dyes colors exist? Can they be all bought at the merchants or are there any specials/rare that could be obtained differently?
And finally, which equipment categories can be colored? Is this color permanent or can I apply another dye if I am not happy of the result?
Really the only thing left for me in this game is exploration, as the environments are not really that interesting. about the most fun i have now is searching for bugs or racing myself around the mountains of the map in the hoverbike.

I've tried using print screen, but it seems to grab the window behind Diablo rather than the game. Is there some in-game hotkey to take a screenshot, or some other method that will work?
When I look at achievements, some of them have additional symbols next to the "achievement points".

During ME3 I tried to limit my voting to only up voting posts by new users, and only down voting wrong answers that had a score > -1. I'll probably do the same thing here.
@badp With the amount of traffic I wanted to make sure my votes mattered as much as possible. So I'd rather up vote good posts by new users so they will be more likely to continue use the site afterwards, and down vote wrong answers just to sort them from the rest.
