@John Mark and Mana basically have it right -- I have a diamond everywhere, but I'm not a community moderator anywhere. There's plenty of stuff to do without flag handling and SE doesn't pay people to moderate. It kinda goes against the whole "community governance and volunteer moderation" creed. I catch an occasional flag here and there in clear-cut cases, but that's about it.

Well, not counting sites in private beta or public beta before we appoint moderators, but that's a bit different.

(In both of Quake 4 and Quake Live, IIRC, Quad Damage does ×4)

I think you're missing the whole point; the question was asked by some new person who may not even be able to tell who is a "real moderator" versus a "fake, network-wide moderator-employee", all they probably see is a diamond.

Only if I make assumptions about the situation that I can't substantiate, like assuming that the other moderators on the site are active. I do trust that the Community Team monitors such things, but I don't know to what extent, and that's not enough to justify to me that the OP wasn't reasonably confused.

And if they were reasonably confused, now they have a perfectly acceptable answer that clarifies their misconceptions, and it's a positive for everyone.

Of course, if it had been tagged feature-request, I'd admittedly have viewed it much differently.
