It depends, though - Mario games are easy to pick up and play, and people who play them are considered gamers

I don't necessarily agree fully, but I do understand where the sentiment comes from.

As a young person playing some console game you don't want to be put in box with your mom who is playing farmville

If you work hard at becoming good at some FPS and you've actually developed skill, you don't like to hear you're now on the same level as someone who clicks a digital crop farm every day.

@IanPugsley Well, yeah. In these "casual" games, you don't actually seem to build up any skill in the game. Other than the XP counter I guess.

And it's not like that kind of gamification isn't reaching FPS either, look at Modern Warfare.

right - if you've got some sort of skill/talent/experience in a game that others don't, it can help to justify the amount of time that you've spent on it

@Mana Clearly they're expecting that you're going to be reinstalling your computer regularly enough to warrant the tool.

The thing about the new versions is that it appears to be aimed at home users, whereas Volume Shadow Copy is aimed at power users and businesses.

Oh wow, apparently these tools only take a few minutes, too.

I tell Steam to open a game, then go up to the bathroom, and when I come back, Steam is nowhere to be found.

@Powerlord Do you know of any way to force the resolution of TF2 to go smaller than the presets given to you in the menu based on your screen resolution?

Make sure you have 4:3 selected in the other dropdown, although I think the smallest it offers is 800x600.

@Powerlord Well, I'm running it in a window, and the smallest one it gives doesn't quite fit on my screen vertically, but the main problem is that it doesn't run as well any more.

@GnomeSlice In my experience, running a 3D game in a window tends to reduce 3D graphics performance, as the card also has to draw the 2D desktop.
