@NarimanAsgharian way too much sealant
@NarimanAsgharian this is a question about personal ideology, Some add a sealant, others not, just dont't add too much
Usually the manual offers the best choice
@NarimanAsgharian this looks like a metal gasket to me

@Martin - Yes, the mechanic applied too much sealant and I think it will be more difficult to remove it.
@Martin - I also think it is made of metal because it feels stronger than paper.

The manual says nothing special about my water pump. It just refers to the normal removal and refitting procedures (removal, cleaning mating surfaces, using new gasket, tightening bolts and done).

I have a 2001 Hyundai Accent GS 1.6 L, me and my dad have just blended the brakes about 14 days ago. And ever since then the brakes have felt spongy. (Soft, inadequate) We have bled the brakes over and over again and they just don't seem to be getting tighter like they used to be. There is no sign of a leak, and the pressure builds up like it should, but when I turn on the car the pressure goes down very rapidly and then we are back to where we started with spongy brakes.
What could be going on? My dad has gotten advice from others and someone said to tighten up the brakes. And we did, but the brakes are still spongy or soft feeling and they go to the floor completely. And don't engage until they are to the floor.
We have been putting brake fluid into the car and kept bleeding the brakes and adding fluid as needed. And I still have spongy or soft brakes. We have new shoes and drums on the back and new rotors and pads on the front as well as a new calipers on the front.

Does anyone know what could be going on with my car?
