It's alright. I thought you we're 22 or 23 years old, fresh out of college, with a major in mechanical engineering. Your son has aged to 26 years. You have serious experience.
01:24
@NumairAidroos - I've been around the block once or twice.

16 hours later…
17:15
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 you're being modest :)
@Zaid - I'm only modest on Thursdays
Haha
How are you doing?
How are you?
haha
I'm good thanks
I'm good. Just relaxing on a Sunday.
17:16
Back to the besieged land
And my Lumina has apparently been towed away
I've got some studies I have to do ... We have these certs through the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) which I've got to get done. They are a PITB, but you know the deal.
@Zaid - NNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
What, did they come and take it while you were on vacation?
Yup
According to dad the authorities had announced a public cleansing of dilapidated vehicles a few days before the car's disappearance
@Zaid - Can you get it back?
Not sure
Or are you even going to try?
Rebuild the LS1 and put it into an M3 :o)
17:26
Good question. I don't want to be a pioneer. If someone's walked the walk I'm quite willing to follow in their footsteps
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 that's my line of thinking :) Shame i didn't pull out the diff :/
@Zaid - Oh, it's been done a few times. Amazing how well the LSx engines fit into the engine bay.
There's a gal on YouTube who's fitting an LS3/TR6060 out of a 5th gen Camaro into her M3 ... should be VERY potent.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 oh, I was answering the previous question ("are you even going to try?")
@Zaid - I figured that out after the fact, but no big deal :)
Okay, it's just a 325i, but still ... pretty kewl.
Yup, the OHV layout is a thing of beauty
You mean towards fitment?
You're working today, right? Doing anything interesting?
17:41
I'm back from work. The usual first-day-back routine. Nothing to write home about
Gotcha. How long have you been off for? Must have been about a month? Way too much fun :o)
That's about right. It's nice to be back though
Get back to some routine. At least that's the way it is for me.
My stomach feels at home now :)
17:43
Not that the food abroad was terrible. Far from it.
You were in India?
That's right
I love Indian food.
Any favorites?
We found a really good restaurant locally ... you know it's good when 2/3's of the patronage seems to be of Indian decent when you walk in.
17:46
Well, depends
@Zaid - I don't know what's what ... I can't remember my name most days, so have no clue how to know what Indian food is what.
@Zaid - Here in the States it would be ... I mean, in India, different story ;-)
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 there was this Indian restaurant in Florence I went to some years back. Let's just say I didn't have a good experience
@Zaid - There are very few true Indian restaurants here.
Indian cuisine can leave you spoilt for choice. There's spicy and then there's very spicy.
@Zaid - I love spicy food, but not spicy for spicy's sake. It needs to have taste, which good Indian food has in droves.
17:52
That I have to agree with
Mom once made a chutney using ghost peppers. That thing was spicy but delicious at the same time. We finished the jar in one day
I really like jalapenos for just that reason (and I know they aren't Indian, lol). They have a lot of flavor with some kick. Habaneros are just on the borderline of being stupid hot without much flavor (detectable flavor, that is, lol).
I love jalapenos
@Zaid - Oh snap! I'm sure it didn't take too many Ghost peppers to make it singe the the eyebrows!
That was the crazy part. Despite being spicy I just kept on having more
Hey, as long as it has flavor, right?
17:56
Exactly
There's a restaurant chain the States called Quaker Steak and Lube ... they have hot wings. Their top three wing sauce cover about 300,000/200,000/100,000 on the Scoville scale respectively. I once tried the 100k version ... it was so hot it made my ears hurt (inside). I cannot imagine what the 300k versions would be like.
Ouch. I'm not into masochism
Exactly!
@Zaid - I get wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. They have a flavor called Mango Habanero, which has the heat (more than a jalapeno, but not stupid hot), yet has a lot of flavor from the Mango. Good stuff.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 The book is far better. It has an whole different ending as the movie
@Myself - I was wondering.
I really did enjoy the movie. Jodie Foster is an excellent actress. Then you throw Matthew McConaughey in the mix, lol.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 In my place DAU stands for dumbest assumable user
@Myself - That pretty much covers it ... you sure feel dumber after working on the training, lol.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 :)
How are you?
I'm good sir.
Family is doing well.
Working way too hard at work.
It is what it is, I guess.
20:03
That's nice to hear
We here are also fine
At the moment is it my duty to watch for the little one at night, my wife is trying to stop breastfeeding at night
@Myself - Tough job ;-)
The larger one has it's moments, but I assume that is only natural
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Actually it is quite easy. The first night was hard but he seems to accept it.
@Myself - I'd suspect ... hunger wins all, I'd assume :) Does for me, lol.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 My suspicion is that he isn't hungry, he just wants intimacy. Now he doesn't even awake at night, I take that as a good sign
@Myself - Absolutely
20:09
I didn't follow your blog. How is your car project going on?
@Myself - Dying a miserable death.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Is time or technical problems the important factor?
Sad to hear that..
Technical problems
I'll get it done. It's just a PITB to work on. I've got a lot of things left to do on it, but I just don't have the ambition to do it.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 I guess I can understand you. When there are some huge, unpredictable steps to take people take a break
That about covers it.
20:43
@Myself - I think September will be a banner month for the Subaru.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 That's good, I am also planning a little project:
I want to overhaul the front axle and suspension of my Astra, also I will replace the rear shock absorbers
@Myself - That sounds like a good project. Is this the wife's car?
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 No, the Astra is my daily driving car. My wife has a small Renault Clio which we will replace in the next years..
You'll have to start a chat like Zaid and others have done with their projects.
The Clio is in great shape, but it is too small and insecure for my feelings
20:50
Time for me to start the barbeque ... I'll catch up with you later. I hope your evening with the young one is a good one.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 barbeque! have a good one!
