Q: Hydrogen bond strength of trichloromethane and chloromethane

Chloromethane has a larger dipole moment than trichloromethane. Does that mean that the electrostatic attraction (hydrogen bond) between chloromethane and acetone is stronger than that of trichloromethane and acetone?

@jonsca I agree that there is some need for comparison, so I pulled that graph from mod analytics. That said, there are three possible scenarios: (1) the community is closing things that shouldn't be closed, which is obviously problematic; (2) the average question that we receive is so lousy that it is more likely to be closed than not, which is also very discouraging - if this upward trend continues, the good contributors (askers and answerers) will leave. I'm sure that there are multiple metrics that show that overall question quality is dropping, or at the very least, not rising.

Solutions are not forthcoming, though. Part of the problem is that we can't seem to agree what constitutes question quality. In hindsight, we can measure the overall quality by deleted/closed/downvoted posts, but we can't seem to agree what kind of question should be closed, for example.

Oh, to be honest, I was toying with the idea of insta-deleting HW. Naturally, that would be mod-only action. The HW close reason would simply be removed.

We are essentially deleting them, just that it takes 30 days longer and it lingers around the front page
