@J.Doe I second the opinion of Dark Cygnus. Wait at until at least one week after you stop getting answers. People often skip over questions that have accepted answers

@J.Doe - if you end up with many equally good answers, accept the one written by the person with the fewest "points". A good way to encourage more answers on gamified sites.

I've got some exciting news: I found a new job!
Now that I'm over the initial euphoria of having gotten a new job, I'm dealing with the logistics of resigning, knowledge transfer, wrapping things up, etc.
But since I'm leaving my current job on good terms, I think that there might be a chance (theoretically speaking) that I could be contracted on the odd occasion, for example to train the person that will be replacing me (that person probably won't start until a few months after I leave).
Just wondering: would this be wise? If yes, what should I take into consideration? (Before anybody asks: the new company would be okay with this in theory since the two companies are not competitors, and my priority would of course be the new job.)
