@MyWrathAcademia Oof.. yeah asking if you can have a top-range laptop as a part-time intern.. not a good look I'm afraid. You probably haven't done yourself serious harm but as Hosch says if you can't come up with solid business reasons why a particular bit of kit they have suggested isn't going to cut it you risk coming across as "I want shiny toys"
@Magisch Denmark is in the same boat. I could move to Copenhagen, and have my company pay for it, if I wished. Here, in the USA, we have a glut of IT folks
and quite frankly, our IT people tend to be pretty bad as of late. Nobody under 40 is worth much of anything
@RichardSaysReinstateMonica eh, most these days ask for a degree "Or equivalent experience or certification"
in fact, for most programmers with any professional experience, you'll get an interview in the vast majority of applications you send
in fact, I caught up with a former classmate from the FI:AE apprenticeship I did and someone recommended to him to write a hundred apps in a week because most wouldn't call him back. He spent 2 weeks cancelling individual interviews because almost every company wanted one
have we by chance got yet another Hans Moleman over here? (link to old meta discussion for those who missed first episode) I'm eagerly waiting for next plot twist, what if colleague asked for date turns out the one who silently farted at meetings
