6:11 AM
Morning all

2 hours later…
8:15 AM
@Draken agreed.. it's the new OCD

9:05 AM
About misophonia While we all might feel a twinge of bother, having misophonia turns an annoying sound into an enraging experience, as it spreads through different parts of the brain associated with 'fight or flight' responses.

9:54 AM
@Snow yep... people seem to equate it to "this noise annoys me.. therefore I have misophonia" now

10:04 AM
The problem is that people search the internet for labels that apply to whatever irritation they might have.
"I hate dealing with other people, therefore I'm autistic".

yeah very true
"I get annoyed when someone doesn't put a book back in the right place, therefore I have OCD"
the internet is great.. but it does have a lot to answer for

Well, that's my ticket for Ready Player One booked for Friday.
Looking forward that, the book was pretty good.

yeah it does look pretty good.. and of course with Spielberg attached confidence in quality is high

It seems to have been written with Spielberg in mind - major protagonist is an orphaned kid.

@Snow that is right in his wheelhouse

10:20 AM
I was going to book another film for the same day and squeeze two in. But there's only Peter Rabbit and some other kids film on.

@Snow shame.. double headers are awesome
I've been terribly lax on the cinema front lately
haven't even seen Black Panther

I was thinking of Red Sparrow (the book/trilogy was good), now I'm not so sure about it. I can't really see JLaw being that good for a role that's made for Scarlett Johannsen.
I'll probably see the panther on Sky when it comes out.

@Snow yeah think I've pretty much missed the boat on seeing it unless I get chance next week
in which case I'll just have to wait for the BD and watch it then

Thats kind of how I'm catching up on the MCU films. Have to wait for a spare evening and then rent it.

@Snow yeah that's how I handled Spidey
and I'm doing the same with the DC films - but that has more to do with the fact that they tend not to be that good

10:28 AM
Wonder Woman was pretty good as well. I'm not too fussed about seeing Justice League or Superman vs Batman.
The Nolan films were the peak, I think. And not likely to be beaten any time soon.

Wonder Woman was excellent.. Batman v Superman was.. meh, as was Suicide Squad
haven't seen JL yet

Margo Robbie was the best part of Suicide Squad by far.

10:48 AM
JAred LEto looked like a 90's rocker dipped in white chocolate.

@RichardU he did.. although that said I did quite like his take on the Joker

Heath Ledger was the only Joker.

@motosubatsu meh, Heath Ledger was far better.
@Snow Mark Hamil did a great job in the cartoon

I never saw that.

@Snow @RichardU Oh I absolutely concurr that Heath Ledge has been the best live action Joker bar none.. I just think credit where credit is due and Leto did a good job and it was a good choice not to try and emulate Ledger's Joker

10:54 AM
@Snow Batman the Animated series is great, and it introduced Harley Quin

@Snow He's voiced it in various animated DC shows and is superb whenever he does

Yeah. He was always cool in Wing Commander.

@motosubatsu Caesar Romaro did a great job in the live action TV series

@Snow I loved the Wing Commander games.. definitely a guilty pleasure of mine

1 hour later…
12:17 PM
@motosubatsu He also did the Batman Akrham video game series, which at least the first one is worth playing if you have the time

1 hour later…
1:23 PM
that moment when you see someone about to saunter obliviously past a landmine sign..

Q: How to get the attention of operations manager as a junior?

Alex WilsonThe software development company I work for has around 40-50 employees with about 12 of those being developers. I work as a junior developer and have been working for about a year after completing an apprenticeship last year. This puts me at the bottom of the rank in regard to making decisions ab...

@motosubatsu yeah, those junior just know everything, don't they

@RichardU I've tried to be gentle in my response
bless 'im he's probably all just wide-eyed and full of optimism about the world

@motosubatsu I remember that phase of my life, before I became a Celestial Chew toy
@motosubatsu There was an interesting one yesterday. Guy was getting upset that a VP was sneaking into slack sessions. Simple solution: Welcome him. I'm surprised that the obvious is rarely considered

1:43 PM
That kind of depends whether Slack is being used to slack or not. A bunch of jive-ass chatting doesn't really look good when there's a deadline looming.

@Snow that's why welcoming the veep works. It will put him off guard. I used to do that all the time with a director who would try to catch us slacking off. It caught him so off guard that he no longer believed anything anyone said about us.

@RichardU it's a great way of saying "we've got nothing to hide" without being quite so crass as to actually say that

@motosubatsu It's Show don't tell and by doing it in a friendly way, the veep won't see it as being defensive.
I've become a sneaky SOB in my old age, but I always try to set up the win-win or in the very least, pull off a Xanatos gambit

3:00 PM
Now this is strange, I'm getting phantom upvotes on ancient answers

It's not me. You have more than enough reps.

3:21 PM
@Snow I'm going to have to put out some bounties to get rid of the excess.

Comments are not for extended discussion; this conversation has been moved to chat. — Monica Cellio ♦ 24 hours ago
^^^ can we please have some extra upvotes on this mod comment? it is currently kinda buried under chatty trash posted right after it

@gnat done

@gnat just did, and can we get some flags on all those comments as well?
I may use up all 60+ flags today

@RichardU yeah already flagged some on there

@motosubatsu They're going to need to come up with some platinum badges.... Marshal is already far in my rear view mirror.

Just custom flag the post, the mod will probably just end up going to the post anyway instead of handling the comment flags one by one.

3:53 PM
@NotThatGuy Well, where's the fun in that?

Man, how many more of these damn paper towers am I going to have to build in my career?

3 hours later…
7:27 PM
Hmm, there's no option to downvote a moderator nomination. Didn't really pay attention to it until I visited the Stack Overflow moderator election today. I was tempted to downvote most of them, but there was no such option, so I just left without voting for anyone
