I've fostered several kids it's an experience that is very different for each kid

Usually not too bad, but there were a couple of nightmares which I ended dragging back to their parents, in those cases the parents were also nightmares

I don't have a choice due to my position, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you know the kid well or make $$ out of it.

We started doing the 'no animal products' thing as a challenge that was popular a year ago, and we actually kind of loved it. Only thing is annoying is eating out, so we just decided to eat everything when we eat out. I don't miss it, I've never been this healthy and what I personally love is that you really start appreciating the food you eat. If I go out and eat a steak now, it's special.

But it's not like a 'law' in the house. If anyone wants cheese/meat, we buy it. It's just not very common that we want it.

@Kilisi Fish is also an animal product :p Although I personally don't mind it much from the animal welfare side (still no proof fish can feel pain or have any self awareness) it's often quite unhealthy for you. So we do buy it sometimes but from good sources.

@motosubatsu most you can buy in stores here is filled with heavy chemicals actually, so you have to go to a good fish shop to buy fresh, decent quality fish.

I think Dutch people have been very content with pretty much shitty food for years. Someone labels it healthy so it doesn't matter how processed or filled with junk it is. We're slowly getting more into fresher, higher quality food again though. Fish shops, butchers etc were disappearing and now slowly rising again.

Tilapia is a very popular fish here and very affordable but since it's a scavenger not something you want to eat very frequently

Yeah I love tuna as well, probably my favorite. Especially raw :)

@Summer yeah.. you have to be careful where you source Tilapia from, some of the farming practices in China (big Tilapia producer/exporter) are questionable at best

also it's a bit high in Omega-6 (and low in -3) which may have implications for heart disease

certainly you're much better off eating a lovely bit of salmon

there are different kinds of chiefs in Polynesia, orators and nobles, usually by descent line... these days pretty much anyone can buy a title or be gifted one. Helen Clarke is a Samoan chief, David Lange etc,.

yeah from a film making perspective in-car shots of an accurate drag race would be extremely dull. You'd be talking four, maybe five gear changes and no wheel movement.

From a cinematography point of view, strapping a camera about 1 inch above the ground and watching you accelerate that car would be far more exhilarating than watching you change gears.

@TolMera yup..the reason the F&F movies don't do just that is because it doesn't show the big name a-list movie star that the studio is paying millions of dollars to be in the film

there was a fantastic bit in the coverage of the F1 GP at the weekend with the camera angle mounted on the front wing of a car that was chasing the one ahead and attempting to overtake - more exciting than a million gear changes even if they were done by a unicorn
