@jmac content matches, but presentation at Prog meta turned out more convenient in my experience. There's a question with a map of links to answers there, and each answer addresses separate close reason. i just go to question, copy the link to answer addressing specific close reason and paste it into question comments. works surprisingly well, people seem to read it and sometimes even pay attention to other close reasons explained in nearby answers :)

A: Jeans in an interview

TrueDubIf in doubt about anything to do with attire in an interview situation, err on the side of formality. If you're over-dressed, it gives a better impression than under-dressing.

@CMW I actually think this is one of the best short answer but "explaining why" answers I've ever seen
too bad it misses half the question the asker has...

CMW
2:02 PM
@enderland read the OPs comment on it. The explanation is solely stating their opinion. On myself for example, overdressing would make a worse impression than underdressing. I prefer working with people that are comfortable with being comfortable. If they're comfortable wearing a suit, that's great, if not, don't wear it.

yeah but there is at least a "why" there (I've not upvoted this answer btw)

CMW
did you add that grey box?
or is that something the system does at some point?
I like that box and always wondered how to get it in place

2:20 PM
@CMW when lemming votes block VLQ, just add a comment explaining the issue (like you did, and did well!) and flag for mod attention using "Other" type flag - these flags can be submitted at post of any score
georgienne makes an excellent point here. Unless backed by some more tangible facts, this answer is purely stating an opinion, and thus not very helpful. Please do edit in something more to back it. — CMW 24 mins ago

Hi xiao, welcome to The Workplace. You have a whole lot of questions in there, most of which themselves would deserve a whole Q'n'A thread. Would you mind splitting it up a bit to make it easier for people who only know answers to parts of what you're asking to give an answer. Also, please keep in mind that some things like questions regarding legal advice are off-topic for this site. Read more about it in the help center. — CMW 1 min ago

@athosbr99 Don't get this the wrong way. We don't judge you. We comment on the conclusions you're drawing. Thinking something is not going to work, because it's not working the way you expect is something a lot of people think. You might even be right in thinking that. But you might also be overlooking something, so jumping to conclusions is not your best bet. See how it plays out, learn from their mistakes, or learn from their saving the company after all.

@athosbr99 I think if you remove the last line where you imply they are going to crash and you are the only one to see it and ask how you should address the issues you raised you would find the question is received much better.
@athosbr99 Right now that part makes it seem as though you are quite pretentious.

@athosbr99 I toned a bit more down for you..

But people here are also more generous to +1's. :)

@athosbr99 The question it self was not the problem... you jumping from those issue to the sky is falling and I am the only one that can see it is the problem.

and honestly, in the end @Chad wasn't wrong. I didn't mean to make it appear on the question but I don't like working there
but in the end, this is irrelevant

@athosbr99 One of the hardest things for me to learn growing up wand even sometimes still is that someone else probably has a better grasp of the big picture than I do.
Its almost always better to fix what you can when you can and deal with what exists as you have to.

trying to imagine how "new reality" feels like for lemming answerers. As usual, they click the sidebar. As usual, they drop their zero effort "meh" answers into the hot question. As usual, they expect a warm wave of similar answers and sympathy upvotes... Oops! Instead, they meet a hard cold surface. "Hello, we've got quality norms here, your post doesn't fit. No, there are no more lemmings around to help you ignore this..." What a disappointment

@gnat Hey @gnat don't let this make your day become a bad day. We aim to improve.

@HugoRocha that actually made me a good day, seeing score -2 there. It was my old pain point at Programmers, when passers by dropped into hot question, re-posted some point copied (probably unconsciously, which is even worse) from top answer and got their portion of upvotes. Seeing how it can be different brings a hope

@HugoRocha Judge Dredd :)
@HugoRocha by the way, one trick to unblock i.stack.imgur.com at work is to find a useful question (at SO / SU / SF) with images, eg screen shots, and request whitelisting it using that question as an evidence that it is needed to perform your job function

@gnat I'm a lawful good, no can do.
:\
(more like chaotic, but alright)
In the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) fantasy role-playing game, Alignment is a categorization of the ethical (Law/Chaos axis) and moral (Good/Evil axis) perspective of people, creatures and societies. The earliest edition of D&D allowed players to choose among three alignments when creating a character: Lawful, implying honor and respect for society's rules; chaotic, implying the opposite; and neutral, meaning neither. Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) introduced a second axis of Good, Neutral and Evil, offering a combination of nine alignments. The D&D Basic Set retained the system of thre...

@HugoRocha it's totally legitimate thing, assuming that you refer really useful question. At one of my past jobs I did whitelisting requests almost monthly, that worked like a charm (not to SO resources, but to other work related stuff, web filters sometimes have really weird defaults). Per my recollection, blocking screen even provided a guidance on how to file a complaint if I feel like block was made in error

Oh, yes, I understand what you mean. I also request a lot of whitelisting. Stack exchange itself was one of them. It helps me to improve my English language.
I'm one of the fews of the company who does speak it. :|
But I see your point... But imgur I was trying already to whitelist. Sometimes I need it to test fetching some images from a external location.

@HugoRocha oh, since English makes a justification for whitelisting, you may have better luck at some ELL / ELU questions. By the way it is worth stressing a difference between generic imgur and i.stack.imgur - I can totally understand how whitelisting former can turn out troublesome, but the latter is specifically for SE resources, it's important difference

Um.. good point. I'll note that!
That is going to help a lot :P
