@TimPost if you don't mind adding yet another mod, blood magic has a way to generate lava (from the blood/pain of your enemies even!(Or from your own blood.))
07:32
@Arperum That looks like it could be efficient if I could get a decent sized mob grinder going that could keep depositing LP. Conceivably, I'd just need some stacked tanks and a lava sigil.
I think Ender I/O is soon going to be stable on 1.7.2, which solves everything. If I can get a few lava pumps with a chunk loader going in the nether life is good.
08:31
... or just say "screw it" and install Ex Nihilo.
@MartinSojka That'll work too of course.
Ex Nihilo fixes everything
Ex Nihilo is strange. By itself, and used in the right context (Skyblock) it's mechanics are annoying as hell. At the same time, with other mods and/or in a normal world, it's stupidly overpowered in the long run.
Stupidly overpowered is the best overpowered

@MartinSojka There's the possibility for infinite lava production in Ex Nihilo?
(never really played the mod much)
@TimPost get a clay crucible, put it over something hot (torch, lava, burning netrrack, probably others) and put in cobble
@KevinvanderVelden IIRC putting it over lava produced lava faster then putting it over a torch. Not sure where fire is placed in the line.
I think netherrack is best, not 100% sure though
No clue, never used anything but a torch and lava
You need a cobblegen too though, but that is rather easy to set up in most cases.
11:28
Hmm, looks stable for 1.7.2, going to give that a try :D
@TimPost Which one? Ex Nihilo or Blood magic?
Ex Nihilo
Might be worth installing blood magic too, just to see how well it plays. Might actually end up with a decent and relatively stable mod pack for 1.7.2 (well, forge anyway)
Ex Nihilo is intended for skyblock maps though, don't expect it to be balanced in regular play =p
11:54
There's uh, very few things that have been ported over that are what I'd call balanced at this point, I'm actually enjoying some of the goofy stuff this game does subsequently

It's torch or flowing lava > lit furnace > stationary lava > burning netherrack. The last one produces 6 mB/s (4 cobblestone per bucket of lava) while requiring a cobblestone block per 42 seconds.. Pair two of them with one of TE3's Magmatic Dynamo, which under full work (80 RF/t, or 1600 RF/s) uses 8.888... mB/s of lava and you have free energy and some spare lava. An Igneous Extruder generates one cobblestone per 2 seconds, so it's enough to drive 10 such generators, for 800 RF/t.
@MartinSojka Fancy. I'd love to upvote that info.
If you want to sacrifice the nice "line of engines" looks for efficiency, you can have one extruder generating cobble for 21 crucibles over burning netherrack (= 126 mB/s of lava) pumping lava into 14 dynamos for 1120 RF/r.
Obviously, that's not nearly enough if you want to drive something like MFR's Laser Drill (max usage of 20k RF/t), but when you're playing Skyblock anyway, it's most likely enough for everyday use.
14:00
@MartinSojka I've found that the math works out almost exactly that the lava generated by 3 netherack-powered crucibles will run 2 magmatic dynamos, with the ever so slightest little bit of lava to spare. Put that in place a while back and now I have 2 and a half resonant energy cells worth of power. :)
14:28
@gnovice I still like the 2-crucibles-to-1-dynamo setup due to 1. aestethics (it's a nice 4 height, 3 width, 1 depth "tower" per "energy generation cell") and 2. spare lava I can use elsewhere.
Mmmmmmm. Lava.

Hmmm, looks like slimy saplings can't be placed by either an MFR planter or autonomous activator. Anyone find a work-around for this, or should I scrap my tree-farm approach and spawn slimes in a grinder?
