As someone who was a mod at SR... We had to do many of the same things on SR. Both the sites are unique in their scope and quality control's part of the mandate TPTB had. Yes, there's lowish traffic but people don't need to buy hardware that often

The problem is that there's no similar site to HR. SR & SuperUser complete each other and SU provides "kind of technical support".
However, Hardware Recommendations sounds better than Hardware Search.
