@Anthon Please make that point in the meta Q if you feel that way. That's why I posted it. I', looking for consensus, not laying down the law.

@terdon I did that before responding here. I also consider writing an automated tool that copies every other answer together in a new one in case shog9's disaster motivation strikes and every other answer in a question gets deleted.
Of course with my rep I could wait until that happens on a question (having access to the deleted answer), but some newbie might not realise that and start the process by hand ;-)
And of course nobody should trust me not to delete my answer, so someone else should make a copy as well...

@FaheemMitha hyperlinks are the things in hypertext markup language that link to other URIs
though in use, hyperlink has been abstracted to anything you can click to access a URI
not restricted to appearing in an HTML file

@FaheemMitha yes, hypertext as a verb would say to me that you embedded the page within HTML tags and perhaps added some markup to it
