I can't believe the idea wasn't shot down in TL you guys are getting lax
The idea was never aired in front of the wet blankets
user2334
It's nice to have a completely pointless argument on MSO every now and again to score free rep, but unless things have changed drastically, a mod-only SE site was subject to automatic veto by SE, Inc.
19:56
I can't see it working. We have a moderator cheat sheet - would be nice to make it more easy to use, perhaps, but beyond that, do we really need a fully blown Q&A site?
Shame though. meta.moderators would have been one amusing place.
And there'd need to be a private room for the moderators of moderators. And they'd need a Q&A site too...
user2334
We need to go deeper

I wonder if you'd go from diamonds to snowflakes to... fractals.

Need to be elected into the fourth spatial dimension to handle flags
Or if they have 10,000+3000i reputation, they can handle a subset of the flags.
@Ninefingers bad idea, imaginary reputation would lead to arguments
@Gilles yeah, people would get downright irrational
user2334
20:26
Well played.
@Gilles ooooowww! But I like the idea of summing reputation that goes around in a spiral...
@AnnaLear I hope nobody was hoping to transcend the mathematical puns
20:39
But then, integration is easier in complex spaces.

There are several Community members in TL right now talking about it. — Robert Harvey 1 min ago
user2334
@AnnaLear @Shog9 Really? Why aren't you discussing this in public on MSO?
@MarkTrapp Because I'm on the phone and want time to write a proper answer. Also, your answer is pretty damn good already.
@MarkTrapp And I'm not even participating in the discussion.
user2334
Okay, fair enough
user2334
Hard to follow a discussion that's taking half taking place in public and half in private
user2334
21:01
which is my point but that's neither here nor there
There are way more mods in TL (46) than users in here (13), so it's natural to discuss an issue that mainly concerns mods there.
user2334
@Raphael I'm referring to the MSO question
@MarkTrapp There's nothing new. Apart from some of the users involved. This has all been said before; hopefully this meta post will provide a good opportunity to avoid yet another discussion.

A: "Private" Moderator Q&A site

Shog9The Teacher's Lounge exists for two reasons: Provide a place where moderators can relax a bit, commiserate and bond without every word being thrown back in their faces the next time someone disagrees with their actions in public. The name is sort of a giveaway here... Allow discussion of sensit...

user2334
22:30
@Shog9 Nice, but there you go again, giving a complete and sensible answer after taking some time to think about it instead of rushing headlong into the fray.
Yeah, I'm such a lazy bum.
user2334
Thoughtfulness: what does that get you? Success in your career? Admiration of your peers? Psh, who needs those.
22:46
I was promised seeing my enemies driven before me, hearing the lamentations of their women... Still waiting :|
(but waiting is easy when you're as lazy as I)

I learned recently that the original quotation is from Ghengis Khan
user2334
> "Nay," responded the Khan, "to crush your enemies, to see them fall at your feet - to take their horses and goods and hear the lamentation of their women. That is best."
I always thought it was Mark Twain
user2334
Mark Twain, conquerer of the central Asian steppes
A man of many talents
