@StephenKitt RMS copypasta from the GNU/Linux vs Linux debate.

@FaheemMitha might be an encoding/unicode problem, but not sure. The only related thing I know is that Emacs on Windows still have the same problem, even on the master branch.
Since you're saying this, you had this problem on Linux right?
if it's Linux, the following might be related: emacs.stackexchange.com/questions/63836/… , also, you could ask on emacs.stackexchange.com

@NordineLotfi Yes, on Linux.
@NordineLotfi My locale is set to Unicode, though.
@NordineLotfi Yes, I could ask a question. I might even get an answer.

@FaheemMitha yeah, I asked questions there a couple times before, and they're pretty welcoming. Just make sure to be as detailed/descriptive as possible (and mention your OS, local env, etc)

According to what I read, virtual pages and physical pages have the same offset. So, the last 12 bits are identical (if a page contains 4KiB). Virtual pages do not contain any data, otherwise I'm wondering why we should use physical pages. But we said that virtual pages and physical pages have the same offset. How can physical pages contain data then?

@Curio Huh? A virtual page is just mapped to a physical page.
