not familiar with firefox lately, but could a package update/upgrade have done it? Could a config file have gotten corrupted/overwritten?

@ToxicFrog I've got two profiles named "dev-edition-default*", and one of those was last touched in December 2019. So it has to be the same profile.

@JeffSchaller I rebooted my laptop after gnome crashed and before/during my FS got borked. Firefox probably updated then (it's developer edition that's set to upgrade with each restart if it can).

It would be an oddly specific kind of corruption... perhaps part of the plan that includes messing with my Fn keys!
