@forest ok but say for instance i create a hotspot from one machine to provide a connection for another, the broadcast IP has one port open, but nmap will just tell me it's filtered. so i just want nmap to elaborate on why and how it is filtered, like why just leave me with a vague adjective that could literally mean anything

hey i am trying to get the value that kismet uses for the wireless source value by using lspci, and then this tut says to use dmesg | grep $Brand_name_of_wireless_card

but i put my brand name in and it give null output, i do enjoy when linux makes me feel dumb tho.
