@terdon ok sorry for the misunderstanding. I did have a positive outcome though, it got me reading the man page for ssh, currently working on setting up a vpn with ssh following a guide written by Scott Bronson. It says the only drawbacks for ppp-ssh is performance, since its just for learning and only my two machines will be using im going to stick with it

unrelated, well aside from the ssh part, is ssh based the best option in selecting an askpass helder program for using the -A option with sudo?

@Kusalananda I didn't see it either, but banged around (first against winterbash.SE, then found the 2020 site) until I found it. Got lucky :)

So if I define SUDO_ASKPASS as to direct sudo to a bash script that I made, this will work right? i mean a script is a program, its a sequence of pre-organized tasks executed when the program name is referenced, same same script is a synonym for program yep question answered
