@AdamL No, no, no. I just meant that I don't need screen when working locally so I don't use it. However, my daily job involves connecting to a remote server at work via ssh and there I do need screen so that my session doesn't end when I close my ssh connection.
When I said I have never used screen locally it wasn't because of any conviction or security issue. I just don't have use for it on my local machine and therefore do not use it.
For the same reason that I only use an umbrella when outside in the rain and not when sitting in my living room.
