can a processor execute two threads at the EXACT SAME TIME?

@Trey There would be little point to having a multi-core CPU if it couldn't. But there are a lot of variations on this question and they don't all necessarily have the same answer. For example, due to pipelining, an individual core of a CPU an in effect execute multiple instructions from the same time, too.

I'm not sure your question would be on-topic on Unix & Linux since it doesn't seem to about *nix systems or necessarily even to involve them in any way, but you might consider posting on Super User.
