Q: Running two threads at the same time

user2644819I want to know if a program can run two threads at the same time (that is basically what it is used for correct?). But if I were to do a system call in one function where it runs on thread A, and have some other tasks running in another function where it runs on thread B, would they both be able ...

@Boris_yo Hi.
@Trey There would be little point to having a multi-core CPU if it couldn't. But there are a lot of variations on this question and they don't all necessarily have the same answer. For example, due to pipelining, an individual core of a CPU an in effect execute multiple instructions from the same time, too.
If the link Videonauth posted doesn't fully answer you question, can you be more specific? Or, better, have you posted a question people can look at? I'm not sure your question would be on-topic on Unix & Linux since it doesn't seem to about *nix systems or necessarily even to involve them in any way, but you might consider posting on Super User. (Search first, of course.)

should I add something important to my question unix.stackexchange.com/questions/406675/…

@JonasStein maybe just reword your last sentence a bit as of now your question about makes this borderline an "pure opinion based" ...
if theres anything to add, well if you have a certain case you wonder about to use either one you could add that
