Hi!
I need an OS X geek to solve this issue: github.com/IonicaBizau/git-stats/issues/1

5:06 PM
@IonicăBizău Hi. As it says in the room description, questions go on the site. I haven't read through that github issue (please summarize it when you ask the question!) but there are a couple sites it may go on, depending on what it primarily is about. If its mostly about Unix stuff, it can go here. If its actually a programming question, Stack Overflow may be appropriate. I'm less familiar with it, but there is also Ask Different which might be appropriate.

@derobert It's a shell question, I think. Should be on topic here.
@IonicăBizău ^^

@FaheemMitha Well, it does work on Linux. Tested it on Ubuntu 14.10.
@derobert I'm not sure how can I ask this on Unix & Linux, since I don't have any access to an OS X device... I cannot ask there Please solve this for me. But here I guessed I can.

@IonicăBizău No reason you can't ask "why doesn't this script (preferably a small, self-contained example) work on OS X?"
Or better, how to make it portable.
I'm not sure exactly what questions Ask Different takes (I'm not active there), but that might be a better place to ask—surely, they all have access to OS X machines.
Just be clear that you're trying to fix a bug reported by someone else, and I think people will be fairly forgiving of e.g., you not being able to test solutions, at least directly.

@IonicăBizău portability issues are on topic here, like derobert said.

@IonicăBizău You may also be able to find a way to test on OS X machines; e.g., I think Travis CI has OS X.

But try to produce a MWE, regardless whether you post here or AD.

sscce.org ... that's what I was trying to remember the name of
