Q: Any program like `sudo` to gain root by giving TWO user passwords?

adminI run a server which is used by a group of individuals for e-mail, mailing lists, personal web homes etc. I thought about ways to provide root access for other members to allow them handling problems on the server. But I don't like to give full root privileges to everyone. What about the idea t...

@Gilles what's wrong with it OR what would you prefer?

There's already an alternative syntax, [this](http://unix.stackexchange.com/)
The footnote version sucks, it separates the link text from the URL for no reason

@MichaelMrozek makes the text more readable
less hyperlink noise

It's not noise, it's where the link goes. It's kind of important. I would hope everyone can read markdown at this point
It's annoying when you're editing a post, and you need to keep track of all the links and their index in a random table at the end of the post

Q: S3 Compatible Object Storage systems

CodeMedicHas anyone come across a near 100% Amazon S3 RESTful API compatible object storage system. What I am after is a layer that sit on top of any (preferably a POSIX) filesystem that provides Amazon S3 style RESTful API to store ( PUT ), retrieve ( GET ), stat ( HEAD ) and delete ( DELETE ), with dec...

@MichaelMrozek why would we wanna clutter the main text with an ugly url? this is stuff we don't have to see, but just to click through to or copy-paste

7:05 PM
Because it keeps the URL attached to the link text, you don't need to maintain a separate list of links

@MichaelMrozek why do you need to keep track? doesn't SE markdown editor automatically delete an older url entry?
@MichaelMrozek it's done automatically by the SE editor

If you delete the link text it'll delete the URL for it? I guess that's not bad then. The main problem I run into is accidentally deleting the whole table when I try to delete the end of a post, and suddenly all the links are broken

@MichaelMrozek now how does that happen?
delete the end of post?

If a post is particularly bad I usually just rewrite it instead of fixing individual words, and then at the end I try to delete the original text, but I accidentally delete the link table too because I just select from my current location to the end of the textarea

oh, ok
