@ANeves sure, i agree, it might be too early to reach a conclusion, though. both of my meta questions are still open because there are only like 10 folks on meta and little urgency to resolve the issues (as far as i can tell, based on the questions we're getting)

I thought about opening the question in meta, but to be honest, I can't be bothered investing the time to read about it in order to write the question properly and perhaps add a first answer to it.

I would say one per resource, to allow multiple answers.
Maybe we could then have one meta question "what resources were compiled by the community?" that would aggregate links to all those answers.

That sounds ok. ELU has just one for all online resources, but not everyone likes it that way.

What would be well-known, and in a certain measure reliable, online resources that should be checked before asking a question, or that could help with answering questions? I've got a few listed that I use frequently, but I'm sure it is far to be exhaustive and maybe not the best in their field f...

"All online resources" is very broad.

Answer that are just links are not in general useful. It would be better for answers to talk about why the resource is useful or not.

The answers given to that question have more text in them instead of just links. Mostly.

@ANeves O "puseram os cornos" e tal não me parecia mal de todo — não tem que ver com politicamente correcto, mas antes com haver certos tipos de linguagem que, quando não são vitais para o post, podem ser evitados

Hmm... eu achei que o exemplo se adequava ao registo da expressão.
Por oposição a uma frase fora do registo, como "você tem andado com uma tal cara de cu, que parece o meu caseiro..."

Não acho que numa frase traduzível para "resting bitchy face" a palavra "fodida" destoe de todo.

Mas o Porto é o Texas de Portugal, usamos palavrões como pontuação... é bem possível que não entendamos aquela frase da mesma maneira. :)
