I wonder if I can get seasoned advice to fix my moms cooking
@Pimgd It won't fix her present cooking, but maybe it can help her get better at it...
@Phrancis The Quiche Lorraine my mother makes is just about perfect, it's just the edge of the quiche is super dry
so you're like omnomnomnomnom mmmmmhmhmmmh and then suddenly WATER PLEASE
@Pimgd Tell her to put the brakes on the spices.
@Pimgd That's pretty common for baked pies that have meat in them, since they need to cook longer than say fruit pies
@Phrancis It's "egg with bacon"-quiche
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmh tasty.

Q: Is it possible to have a good crust without prebaking a quiche?

MienI'm planning on making a quiche (Lorraine with leek to be exact) and I was looking up recipes for quiches. Most recipes call for blind-baking the crust in advance (or at least partly), but some skip this step and pour the filling in the raw dough and bake it like that. I think blind-baking would...

Like how can you get soggy edges
these ones are so dry you could make them fall and they'd go "thunk"
Hm, how long does she cook her quiche/pies?

which is a shame because the rest is like eating a giant omelet which is so darn tasty
half an hour?
24cm diameter
I've never actually cooked a quiche, I don't particularly like that dish because it's so dense
how can you not like quiche
like, I can't bake things, right? I totally suck at it
yet I learned how to make this quiche
because it was so darn tasty
I like quiche ok, I just won't go out of my way to get/eat it
I would prefer an omelette, if it's gotta be eggs
